Okay John-Cole has decided to do a paper on Disney. It will include the resorts, descriptions pictures etc. We are also going to list the results of this poll...

So, taking everything into consideration, location, details, theme, price, restaurants, gift shops....everything which of these WDW resorts would you rather stay at. These are only the deluxe resorts because we are doing the moderates and value in another section. If you want to elaborate please post because I'm sure we can use a lot of your responses as to "why" too. The reason I posted here is because this board gets a lot more traffic than the Resorts Board so I hope thats okay,

Here goes,

If I were an 11-year old boy, I'd probably pick AKL.

Since I'm a 38-year old woman who likes the finer things in life, I pick the YC. :) I like the architecture, the room furnishings, the fabulous pool, and the location cannot be beat.

I chose Wilderness Lodge because I think it's the prettiest resort (according to my tastes.)

I absolutely love the Polynesian. I have done a lot of resort hopping and the theming, location, just over all feel just fits so wonderfully. The view of MK at night is fabulous and the whole area is just held in a special place in my heart.

I chose The Wilderness Lodge. It looks beautiful and very rustic. I think that I would feel most at home/comfotable there.

I choose the Yacht Club because of it's proximaty to Epcot and MGM, the pool, the easy access to the Boardwalk and also because they have balconies.

I picked AKL because of many reasons. It is isolated from the rest of WDW. It would be nice to take a break from the hetic pace. the restaurants are wonderful. the resort itself is beautiful and last but not least, the animals.

I picked WL for many reasons: I love the theme and atmosphere, and it is more reasonably priced that other deluxes. I also really like their gift shop and restaurants (AP, yum!). One of my favorite things to do there is rent a boat on the lake, and also getting a Hidden Mickey clue list from Guest Services. It gives the feeling of seclusion, yet it is convenient to MK and bus transportation to other parks is usually a breeze.

Boardwalk - location, pool, nightlife, kids activities and disney-like entertainment (free), walk to EPCOT.

yup. Boardwalk.

MY 9 year old son and I both like the Polynesian best. I love the atmosphere and he remembers the fireworks and the beach. :)

I love the Animal Kingdom Lodge. The atmosphere is just wonderful - I honestly can't believe I'm in Florida when I'm there. The theming of the rooms is great, beautiful furniture. I love the pool, especially at night, and I love all of the food at Boma and Jiko. I love the music they pipe in. Of course, I love the animals. I love all of the little extra activities they have going on. Ahh, I wish I was there..

I chose the Beach Club because I love the proximity to Epcot, Disney-MGM Studios, and the theme, as well as Beaches and Cream and Stormalong Bay.

I voted S/D. Its right next to boardwalk, catch a boat to WS or MGM and they have the grotto pool :) I also like the stroll back after Illuminations.

I would definitely go for the Beach Club, mostly for the awesome pool! Beaches and Cream is another big plus. Those are my two main reasons for choosing Beach Club. I find the Beach Club to be a little less aristotic than the Yacht Club, so I feel more comfortable there. Also, you are in close proximity to two out of four theme parks. Because the Beach Club is somewhat centrally located on Disney property, the bus rides will not be terribly long. I have done the Magic Kingdom to AKL a few times and that takes forever!

I voted for the Beach Club because this is the resort my family would like to stay at. The hotel is beautiful and DS absolutely loves the pool and the proximity to Epcot and the Boardwalk is great. We love the surrey bikes and you aren't that far from putt-putt and MGM.

My second choice would be the Polynesian, I just love the feel of the place.

Beth, you will have to let us know which resort John-Cole choses and how he does on his report. What a fun topic for a report. I am curious though, what was the criteria for the report, was it to be Disney related by the teachers choice?

:bounce::wave::bounce:

for the Poly - I've stayed at the Poly, Wilderness Lodge and BC. ( Thanks to DVC). And my favorite was the Poly. The service, location and transportation can't be beat. then again - I really loved the Wilderness Lodge and the Beach Club LOL:rolleyes:  I guess I'm not that much help here!!! Sorry.

Well, you didn't offer my favorite as a choice (Old Key West), but I voted for my second favorite, Animal Kingdom Lodge.
