I asked my original guide if I could tooI’ll be honest if they had allowed DGC to be used for direct purchases I would’ve tried to make it happen![]()

I’m down to PM you every time I see a deal if you wantI’ve read it and a lot of the deals weren’t for Disney GCs as far as I can tell.
I also don’t see how it super scalable based on my Disney dues and spending.
None of the things you mentioned were Disney GCs.Haha I used to LOVE the Skyliner, this last trip I was a bit more leery of it due to the heat and getting stuck.
I have a credit card that gives me 6% cash back on groceries and so I use that card in combination with 4x fuel points. So my husband and I get gas together and save $1.00 per gallon. That is the easiest most straight forward almost always available way I save 20%. Target often runs promos where you get rewards for a certain spend amount. Example my most recent offer was $15 rewards back on a $150 purchase. I pay with my Target debit and save 5% on top of the $15 reward and use a shopping portal for 2% cash back this is a 16.90% savings. Then of course there are other random offers I watch out for at Sams Club, Bjs, Best Buy etc.
I saw that doc came out and was glad I just cancelled Netflix so I cant watch it. I have always said absolutely 100% I would never ever cruise. I don't like feeling stuck and not being able to leave so Im hoping I love it so much I wont want to leave. Right now I can say I am only comfortable on a Disney cruise, maybe I have too much trust in the mouse. It's the shortest cruise they offer just in case I hate it and feel the need to get off the boat asap.
I would always take some savings coaching…. but I don’t have a business credit card or an AMEX…. and ther isn’t a BJ Clubhouse or a Sam’s Club in Oregon….I’m down to PM you every time I see a deal if you wantThere is a GC deal there here on the boards too but I don’t participate over there.
Oh I buy the DGC at the grocery store and at Target.None of the things you mentioned were Disney GCs.
Done! I’ll pm you next time something over 10% comes up that’s not the grocery store option that’s pretty much almost always available.I would always take some savings coaching…. but I don’t have a business credit card or an AMEX…. and ther isn’t a BJ Clubhouse or a Sam’s Club in Oregon….
I’m not against buying a DGC for 10% off at Safeway… I’ve just never seen it.Oh I buy the DGC at the grocery store and at Target.

Safeway isn’t a good one I agree. They are one of the rare ones that lets you use points for your groceries and when I had a Safeway honestly their prices on groceries made me not even shop there. Most other stores are strictly fuel points. Kroger branded stores (Smiths, Frys, Dillion’s) is typically where I buy my DGC and get gas. Edit to add you could also buy the DGC when it’s 4x points and then use the points for groceries. So it’s still a savings. But not as straight forward as some of the other options.I’m against buying a DGC for 10% off at Safeway… I’ve just never seen it.
Also, if I could save the money on the groceries I am buying instead of the DGC… is it really a savings?
I am very behind this year and I’ve collected around $7,000 since we have taken more trips and I now have will have more dues.
I drive an electric car…. so the GC for gas discount math wouldn’t help me there.Safeway isn’t a good one I agree. I got $1092 savings on the $7000So you mean you've collected $7000 worth of Disney Gift Cards? And you paid how much for them, exactly?
Yeah the gas option doesn’t seem like it would work for you. We drive F150 so lots of gas.I drive an electric car…. so the GC for gas discount math wouldn’t help me there.
We also don’t have a Kroger branded store that is closer than a 20 minute drive away, whereas we have a Safeway a 2 minute drive away and Walmart Neighborhood Market and a Market of Choice (local, bougier) within 5 minutes.
So, I’m deducing that there are buying patterns that work great for some people if they can use rewards points systems to channel DGC purchases into savings that would apply to other spending…. but not necessarily a straightforward 10-30% off Disney gift cards at a level that could support a high volume of dues and parks spending.
Idk how you find such massive discounts. I usually get the always-available 5%, with the rare 10%.I got $1092 savings on the $7000
It’s a process and stacking deals gets more savings. Yesterday I got 14.5% at CVS. Capital One had 10% back on $100. My Cap One gives 2% and then I got 2.5% back from my card being linked to Rakuten.Idk how you find such massive discounts. I usually get the always-available 5%, with the rare 10%.![]()
You just helped me with this! I use Rakuten from time to time, but have not used their in-store/linked card offers before. Just checked, I have 7.5% off an in-store purchase of up to $200 - going to have to link my Chase Freedom Unlimited card (well, it is currently a plain Freedom card I haven't used in a long time, but will product change to Freedom Unlimited to get the 3% drugstore cash back first). Awesome!! I have done this deal many times with my Freedom that has extra on drugstore purchases. If you have an American Express and like their rewards points it can be even sweeter with Rakuten (they will give you MR points vs cashback and you don’t have to use Amex to make the purchase) But if even only shooting for cashback it’s an easy deal. You can also use it back to back on the same day without reloading it, just be sure you check before using it the first time that it is still linked. You just helped me with this! Thank you! I used to play the AmEx MR game (including Rakuten) but exited a few years ago in favor of the American Airlines cards and miles. But, now that I’m Disney GC deal hunting, I am bringing some of my cash back cards into the mix since there aren’t many deals I can score in the AA miles arena. Still, this is great info.Awesome!! Ok, so right now Fred Meyer (Kroger) has 10% cash back through my Chase card. So, I can go in and buy gift cards and I will eventually get the cash back….At the moment between family members I have 15 credit cards with 10-15% CB Chase or Amex Offers to my local Kroger chain, which is also offering 4x fuel rewards on gift cards or groceries (on Fridays). Max total spend $1955 for $225 cash back + $150 back on gas + avg ~2% / $40 back on the card rewards. I'll have used maybe $400 on actual groceries before the offers end later in July, and rest on GCs.
In the first half of June Safeway had a somewhat unadvertised deal of buy $75 in certain gift cards (Disney was included), get $15 off your next shopping order of at least $15. A bar code printed on the receipt with the $15 discount and needed to be used within 2 weeks. There was no limit on how many times you could get these $15 codes for separate $75 gift card purchases. Wasn't mentioned anywhere in my store or local ad but I found the deal mentioned online and it worked fine at my store.
Yep! Just be sure to watch the maximum on cash back. Edit to add it takes about a week for the cash back to post to your Chase accountOk, so right now Fred Meyer (Kroger) has 10% cash back through my Chase card. So, I can go in and buy gift cards and I will eventually get the cash back….
