Just got back last night from 5 days at WDW. As usual, we tried some new places as well as visited some old favorites!

The 1st night we went to DTD and at at Wolfgang Puck Express in the Marketplace. It was raining, and seating was at a premium, but we did manage to get a table on the heated patio, which kept us warm and dry. We split the Margherita Pizza, which was absolutely delicious and had a couple of Corona's. We love doing this on our 1st night there!

The 2nd day, we ate breakfast at Sassagoula Foodworks Factory at PO-Fq. I had the Beignets, of course, and DH had the King Creole Platter. All was very delicious. The beignets were hot and fresh... and DH said that the platter was very good.

That afternoon, we were in Clermont apartment hunting and stopped at Perkins for a bite. The food was very good. I had the chicken quesadillas and DH had the grilled club sandwich. The price was right, and it was fast and good.

For dinner, we hit our favorite... Cape May Cafe! It did not disappoint! We ate our fill of the steamed clams and mussels. DH had the clam chowder, too. The Mashed Potatos, as usual, were wonderful.. and I enjoyed the wonderful dessert bar! They have added Prime Rib to their selections, and although we didn't try it, it looked very good! Our server was Loren, and he was great! We never waited for anything, and he was very informative about the restaurant, as well as WDW!

Tuesday we ate again at PO-FQ. This time I had a croissant and orange juice and DH again had the King Creole platter. I headed to my interview, while DH headed to AK. By lunchtime, I was in MK, and starving. After checking out Pecos Bills and deeming it a bit too crowded, and heading around to El Pirata Y El Perico and finding it closed, I headed to Columbia Harbour House. Boy, am I glad I did! Not only were the lines not at all bad, but the food selection was great! I had the chicken salad on field greens with pecans and pineapple. It was absolutely delicious!!! I had a seat on the 2nd level overlooking Fantasyland and enjoyed people watching as I ate--- it was extremely crowded that day. Also, they have the best fresh brewed ice tea I have ever tasted!

For dinner we ate at Kona Cafe. We had PS for 6 pm and were seated right away. We started with a Mai Tai, and then I had the chicken, which was wonderful. DH had the beef teriyaki, which was also delicious. For dessert, I ordered the Banana Caramel Creme Brulee and the mocha coffee..... oh my gosh!!!! It was outstanding! I want to go back there just for dessert!!!:D

Wednesday we went to Busch Gardens Tampa, and I have to get off of the subject and tell you that if you do go there, you MUST eat at the full service restaurant. The view is amazing, the food is delicious and the service was up there with Disney!

For dinner we ate off site at Chili's. The fajitas, which DH and I split were wonderful. I was also very impressed that the entire eating establishment, including the bar area was non smoking!!!

Thursday morning, back to PO-FQ for breakfast, and I again had beignets. DH , this time had the western omelette, which he said was delicious!

We headed to MGM and rode ToT and RnR. It was pretty crowded! We ate lunch at 50's Primetime and had a blast! I had the pot roast, and requested green beans instead of carrots, which was cheerfully accomodated. DH had the meatloat, which he loves! For dessert, I ordered the S'mores! Wonderful, as usual! Our server was loads of fun, and we had great cousins sitting on either side of us! We ate dinner at a friends home that night!

Thank you for the great reviews - especially Cape May Cafe. We are considering trying Cape May during our upcoming trip in May and haven't eaten there before. My husband is a little hesitant as we don't do buffets very often, but we're staying at BCV and it seems like it would be a good time to try it out.

Would you recommend it? Any tips?

Melissa

I highly recommend Cape May Cafe for dinner. We have been going there to eat since 1993! The food is always hot, fresh and delicious. The desserts are wonderful.

Try to get a PS before or at 6 pm, as it isn't as crowded!

Enjoy:)

Hi there...

thanx for the great reviews - I love hearing about people's meals - it gives me so many ideas for my trip - and places I have never even thought of going.

I had a really really really bad experience at the Coumbia Harbour House... but after reading your review- it sounds like a different place!

Maybe I will give it another chance ..........just because of you................... maybe lol

Glad you had a great time! I hope your interview went well! Due to all your raves about Cape May Cafe, I've made a PS there for 6/22 at 6:00. I'm sure we'll enjoy it as much as you. Thanks for sharing!:D

KCritter, the King Creole Platter has scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage (I don't remember which, maybe both), hashbrowns and a biscuit. My DH is on a low carb diet, so it fit well... he just couldn't eat much of the hash browns or any of the biscuit. He kind of cheated a little, though...lol!

Jennymouse, I do hope that you enjoy Cape May as much as we do. When will you be in WDW? We are moving down there mid June. My interview went really well, and I should know where at WDW I will be working by June 1st.

>>^..^<<, I hope that you have a better experience with Columbia Harbour House. It was about 2 pm when I went, and I think I hit it right when the lunch rush was leaving. That salad was fantastic! I hope you enjoy it... and try to sit upstairs so you can look out over Fantasyland!

If I'm figuring out your days right we were on the porch at Wolgang Puck's the same night as you - that incredibly rainy Sunday March 22nd? (it takes a lot for someone from Portland to call a day incredibly rainy) The heaters near us weren't working but it still wasn't bad. We were there from around 7:30. I was the one saying "Oh Wow" when I tasted the chocolate creme brulee.

I'll post some reviews eventually - we were there for 9 days on the silver plan so I have a lot of food to write about!

Our plans are to be there June 20 - June 26. The first two nights at the Poly then moving to BWV for the next five nights. Ressies are made and even air tickets bought, but they're still tenative plans as my mother has terminal cancer. Of course we're praying for a miracle, but ....anyway, we think we'll be needing to get away from it all come June. Like I said, things are iffy right now, I may be sorry I made the ressies, but planning this vacation is what's getting me & DGD through right now. Hope to see you there!

Karen, we were probably at Wolfgang Pucks at the same time. We were also at the end where the heaters weren't working. It was just DH and myself, and we split a pizza. Some really nice kids had been sitting at the table and got up when we came out so we could sit down. Small world, isn't it?

Jennymouse, if I am working at that time, I will probably be in training, but let me know if your trip is a go, and maybe we can meet up somewhere. I am really sorry to hear about your mother. That is so hard. We went through something similar with my MIL about 5 years ago.
