We just returned from a week in Florida, so I thought I'd just review all the places we ate at Disney... I'll post off site places and Universal places on their respective boards... Don't want to get in trouble! =)

CAST: Me (Age 25)
DH (age 26)
DM (dear mom - in her 50's)
DS (dear sister age 23)
DB (dear brother age 20)

Food court area at Pop Century:
I had the kids meal with mac and cheese and breadstick. Typical mac and cheese, decent portion, only $3.99. DH got the shrimp lo mein, which was okay with lots of shrimp in it. DM had the kids pasta and marinara sauce with meatball, and it was yummy and plentiful. DS had the kids chicken nuggets and fries and they were processed chicken nuggets, not good, but cheap and quick. DB had the chili cheese hot dog with fries and it looked good. Overall thoughts: food court has lots of offerings, fresh food, quick service, and really wasn't that expensive. The seating area was clean and bright, with really cute decor. It was great in a bind.

Princess Storybook Breakfast in Norway:
We had the last seating of the morning, seeing that we're all adults and don't do mornings as well as the little ones do! We were quickly seated at a great round table in the middle, and were greeted immediately by our excellent waiter. He got all our drink orders (chocolate milk, orange juice, coffee, apple juice) and we started on the fresh fruit - which was great. Also had some rolls. It wasn't long before the princesses stopped by. They do a great job of making quick but meaningful stops at all tables. We saw: Jasmine (my DHs fave, we now have a pic of them together LOL), Aurora, Belle, Snow White, and Mulan. I wished that Mary Poppins had been there as well, but have had breakfast with her before. The food was good, and he brought out more of everything when asked. The potatos and bacon were especially yummy. We felt we got our moneys worth, really enjoyed watching the young children around us see the princesses, and felt we got just as much attention as they did. We ate until stuffed, and were the last to leave. It was a nice way to start our one day marathon through WDW.

Funny moment: while us girls were posing with Aurora, my DM commented to her that it was nice to see her, since she's rarely out, and she said in her princessy voice (you know the voice I'm talking about!) "I sleep alot..." and smiled. My DS, who is never short on whitty comments, retorts back "You use that line alot, huh?" and Aurora just smiled and said, again in her princessy voice, "yes, I do..." Too funny!!!!!!!!! She never broke character, even though we were probably her age, and never lost that voice they use. We laughed about it for awhile.

Early dinner at 50's Primetime Cafe at MGM:
We ate here last time and really enjoyed the food so we opted to eat here again. We were seated quickly, and our waitress was good... though we were disappointed that the waiter next to us was much more playful. Good thing was, he often roped us into his antics so we got the exp as well. We started with an order of onion straws and they were yummy! Dh and I split the pork tenderloin, and it was very good and PLENTY to share. They split it for us in the kitchen, which was nice. DB had the pan seared salmon, and it was really good... DM and DS split the grilled chicken, which was good and plenty for two as well. The presentation of all the meals impressed me the most... it looked like something off Iron Chef! All the food was really good and reasonably priced, since we split things. We def had enough to eat. Though we enjoyed our meals here, we decided we'd probably try something else next time since this was twice without a really great and playful waiter.

Snacks at MK: DoleWhip float (pineapple juice topped off with DoleWhip), popcorn in souvenier bucket (not a bad deal at $4!), churros... all good!

Lunch at the Grand Floridian Cafe, Grand Floridian hotel:
We planned this meal in celebration of DM's birthday and Mothers Day, since we don't live near her to celebrate on those days. I wanted to surprise her with the glass slipper dessert, and this was the least expensive venue at the GF to dine at. We were seated immediately, and I hung back and asked the hostesses to please tell our waiter we had ordered the slipper desserts as a surprise, and could he just bring them out as dessert when we finished. Our waiter here was EXCELLENT. He was playful and quickly cued in that we enjoyed his humor =) DH and I split the Grand sandwich with potato salad. YUMMY and enough for a light lunch. DS and DM split the Chicken Salad Sandwich and soup. They didn't want the soup, so they ordered the bean soup and DH and I ate it - also really good. Both of the split meals came pre-split, which was nice! DB was the last to order, so he told our waiter he was going to split the Cobb Salad with himself, just to follow what we had all said =) When our meals came out, the waiter had had them split the cobb salad into two bowls, both perfectly presented. TOO FUNNY! He then brought out a huge bowl to mix them together in. When we finished with our meal, DM kept making mention to our waiter that she wanted to order some dessert, and he did a great job of ignoring her requests =) When he took her completely empty-with-the-exception-of-crumbs plate, he asked her if she wanted it boxed up and she said yes =) 3 min later, out he came with the box of her crumbs for her to take home =) He and the manager came out with our glass slippers then... they were beautiful, DELICIOUS, and DM was completely taken aback. She knew nothing about them, and being a CM and Disney fanatic, I was amazed I found something she knew nothing about! SURPRISE SUCCESS! All in all, we had a great time here. Food was good, atmosphere is casual and sunny, and our waiter was excellent. DS plans on calling in and telling Disney how great our waiter was.

Snack at MGM: BIG pretzel, cokes. Those pretzels are huge! DH and I split one and I barely got it down... Not too expensive, either.

Dinner at Ohana's:
We didn't have to wait long to be seated for this, even though the second floor of the Poly was packed! The coconut bread was fantastic, and before long, we were snacking on the appetizers. We all just had the included cokes, though I did get cherry coke =) All the food was SO GOOD, and our waiter was quick and proficient. The meats were good, except the pork was very dry. No worries - just meant more room for the shrimp! I quickly figured out how to peel my shrimp with a fork and knife and was able to down more than I originally thought when they came out with shells on. Sounds odd, but try it! I hate having my hands messy from peeling so it worked! We had a PS at 8, so we could see Wishes at 9pm, but in order to see it, we had to walk around the restaurant and bend over, so after 2 min, i decided it wasn't worth the effort for the view. No biggie, just more time to eat shrimp. All in all, we ate until we really thought we were going to hurl. I DEF felt we got our monies worth. DH especially loved the pineapple dessert, which we even got seconds on since he downed the first offering quickly. DH exclaimed on the way home yesterday that this was his favorite dining exp - and we ate at a lot of places.

Must note: the CM that does the entertainment was the most ANNOYING we'd ever encountered. We are still imitating her =) Her voice was terrible, she never hit the pitches, and we thought we were going to start flinging the skewers at her when she announced she'd only do TWO more songs before the fireworks. Oh well. Can't win at everything! Did anyone else have a really annoying person? We wanted so badly to go sing the right note in her ear =) It was surprising to go to Disney and encounter it, though... they usually have top notch talent.

More snacks: Ghiradelli ice cream, more popcorn, frozen lemonade, and Italian Ice at DTD. All YUMMY!!!!!!!! Ghiradelli has a really nice shady eating area outside, too. Prices weren't too bad, either, in comparision to my Baskin Robbins at home.

Disney's Vero Beach:
The only places we ate at the resort was dessert at the Green Cabin Room bar upstairs, and a kids meal at the pool. The chocolate cake dessert was excellent, and the service was great at the bar. The atmosphere was incredible, too, seeing that we were on a porch overlooking the ocean! We snagged a chicken finger kids meal at the pool since we wanted the sand pail and shovel it's served in to build a sand castle. The two strips were good and fresh, cookie was really big, and lots of grapes! DM had a drink down there a couple of times, whatever their frozen speciality was, and it was good... DS got a banana daiquri, but had a hard time drinking it since they don't use straws there. All other meals were in town or cooked in our villa.

I think that was all!!!!!!!!!! Feel free to ask questions or comment! Sorry it was so long!

Well after reading your reviews I will definitely be trying the Princess Storybook Breakfast with my Princess (who's due in a couple of months) and I will definitely special order the White Chocolate Slipper dessert when we go the GF Cafe for dinner. Of course all of this is more than a year away, but I can salivate over the thoughts of everything, right?

Your reviews were great!!! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the reviews! We'll be eating at 'Ohana for the first time next month - I can't wait. I'll be sure to take our ear plugs along in case we get the bad singer! ;)

Great reviews!! Did you say your Mom was a CM?? Where did she work? Thats really cool that you could surprize her with the slipper.

Thanks for the great reviews! Can't wait to try O'hana's for the firsttime on our trip in November. Glad you enjoyed all of the restaurants you visited. That is great that you were able to surprise your Mom ;) .

Thanks for your detailed reviews. 'Ohana is one of our favorites. We are actually eating there twice on our upcoming trip in July! I am hungrey already!

Oh, yummy, yummy, yummy!!!!

I could just about taste everything.

What is the glass slipper dessert?

Thanks!

the guy performaer is sooooo much better than the lady (who odly wears a cowboy hat). we were at the tambu lounge one night, and she just kept schrreeeching the songs. one of the bartenders saw me make the "ouch! that note hurt" face and just started laughing. i apologized, but he said that the only thing to be sorry for was that i had ears. the next drink he made extra strong. :hyper:
flash forward two days later when we're walking into o'hana for dinner, and i get a drink from the bar. "ready for some more punishment?" i hear from the other side. low and behold its the bartender from the other night.

Thanks for posting. It sounds like you really enjoyed yourselves. And I enjoyed reading your reviews.

Thanks for sharing your reviews, I enjoyed reading them.

I'm so glad you loved your choc slipper dessert. On our last trip I called to order and they never returned my call until after we left. I'll try again on our next trip. It sure sounds like you had a very special time with your Mum!

And about Jasmine..........I have a picture of my daughter and a very well endowed Jasmine!! I think I know why its your husbands favorite princess;) ;) !!

Thanks again for sharing!

I enjoyed your reviews. Especially PSB at Norway. We were just there in April and I wanted to share one of our "Princess" experiences. Cinderella's Fairy Godmother was visiting our table and my DD-2 was decked out in her "Princess Tinkerbell" costume complete with her little pixie shoes. As she was climbing out of her chair, one of her shoes came off. Without missing a beat, Fairy Godmother said "Oh, don't worry about that, it happens to my friend, Cinderealla, all the time!" It was priceless!!
