Where to watch fireworks??

We will be arriving to WDW in January late in the afternoon, hence no park visits. However, I wanted some suggestions on where is a good (and free) place to go watch Fantasy in the Sky Fireworks. I've read (I think) that the beach by the Poly of GF is good. How about some indoor suggestions? FYI...We are staying at the WL. Thanks.

There really aren't any indoor where you can see them that great (for free). Your best bet is on the beach at the Poly!

Hi....or you can see them from the Contemporary, as long as you have priority seating.....

I just did that in August. Stayed at VWL, took a boat to Contemp and walked out on the balcony with about 10 others. It was pretty good. Kinda to the side of the castle and pretty far away but certainly magical and gets you in the wdw mood. Carefull though on the return boat-it may not be running that late, then its monorail to transportation center and then a bus.

We love sitting on the beach at the Polynesian to watch the fireworks.

The best indoor place is probably the Tambu Lounge at the Polynesian, though there is no music pumped in. Don't worry about the cold though; last January, we watched Fantasy in the Sky from inside the Poly pool. The weather was fine on the beach!

we always go to chef mickeys for dinner and then we take the elevator up to the calf. grill at the top of the contemp and if you get there early enough you can get a seat in front of the window and have a drink watching the fireworks and they do pipe in tinkerbells voice and music. its a great view!

They won't let you go out to the 15th floor observation deck any more unless you're eating at the California Grille. Sigh. And the view from up there was incredible. We went out to the fourth floor balcony (keep going down the concourse past the shops; the door to the balcony is off to the left.) There were no fireworks that night, but we had a nice view of the castle and Space Mountain, so I'm sure you could see the fireworks from there.
