Where to transfer digital pictures???

I bought a battery charger, the Lightning Pack? from ripvan.com before I went to Disney. it's small, and the plug folds into the back of the unit, so no cord! The only bad thing, is that I've received terrible service from this company! I won't be ordering from them again. I've got their charger, which I do love, but no more dealings with them!

Sandy Feet-I have a friend that uses rechargeable batters and a charger from Walmart. He uses these batteries for EVERYTHING and he is big tech geek-so you can image all the toys he has. I have seen them at Walmart in the photo section. I have not purchased them, YET but I will be before I go on my trip. When I get it and use it I will be sure to post a thread for you to see how it works.

I am also looking for another battery for my Sony digital camera for a back up. I want to be sure that I am not stuck without a camera and I dont want to end up having to buy regular batteries, which will work, at WDW and pay the extra cost.

I have 512 mb card and on the medium quality, which produces excellent pictures, I can fit about 500-520 pictures on it. I only use that for big vacations (2 weeks or more).

I also have a 256 that I use on a regular basis.

We go for 2 weeks, so I tend to take a lot of pics. I thought about getting the 1 gb for next time. When I'm not using the big 512 card, I back up my computer files (my document) onto that. You never know when your computer might crash. I had that happen last week and good thing I had my files saved. Better than backing up everything onto 25 floppy disks (hehe).

here's another...a little OT, but it might save someone some aggravation...

Before you leave your car in the "wide open spaces" of the WDW parking lot, take a pic with your digital camera of your row number and character...

End of day, no fumbling for "that piece of paper I wrote the stuff on...now where did it go???!!!"

Just check the memory...:)

HTH someone out there!!

:sunny:

MBB that is a GREAT idea!! Without Disboards that is something I would have thought of on our last day there!

I found a relatively new device that I use to transfer my digital pictures. Its called a Roadstor, and its a CD burner with flash memory card slots in it. You insert your flashcard and a blank CD, press a button twice and it transfers all pictures to the CD.

This allows me to make multiple copies of my pictures that can be put in different suitcases in case one is lost in transit. I prefer this to the hard disk based models because I can have multiple copies and hard disks do fail. I'd hate to lose all my DW pics due to a hardware failure.

This little device also allows you to view the pics on the hotel TV, it plays MP3 files as well as DVDs. When it isn't traveling with me, it sits at home as a DVD player connected to one of our TVs. I paid $178 for mine.

That sounds interesting! We were thinking about buying a new laptop just for this purpose. (doesn't hurt that we would write it off against the business too... ;) ) This sounds like a much more economical solution.

rscotty...where did you buy yours at? Are there any 'negatives' about using it? I'm going to have to check into it! Thanks!
