Where to stay...

If you get base tickets you can always get the minimum tickets you think you will need and you can upgrade your tickets at Guest services should you find you need to "hop" or go to a waterpark. Also consider your day of arrival/day of departure. If you fly in late or fly out early, you may not be able to go to a park on arrival/departure days. So the minimum days you need may be 8. For such a long stay you probably will want to hop (go to more than 1 main park in a day). But hopping wastes time and if your kids have never been to WDW there may be lots of things per park that you want to see. The hopping option is I think $55 per ticket which is not a lot but for 5 tickets that is $275. One trip I bought base tickets and figured we would upgrade at guest services if we needed to hop. We didn't so we never upgraded. But if we had purchased the hopping option and not used it, we would not have gotten a refund. Same goes for the water parks. You might not add that option upfront and just add it when you know for sure you will be going to a waterpark. Although I believe if you have the hopper option already, the waterpark option is only $22 more. But you can never predict the weather or if someone gets sick and maybe they won't feel like going to a waterpark. Plus, if you stay at the Beach Club, that's a great pool. Your youngest may not want to go to a waterpark so one parent may stay w/ the youngest at the resort pool while the others will go to a waterpark. But since this is an employer paid trip, do you need to spend up to the $10K? If you don't spend it all, you won't get it back as cash, right? For sure don't get single day waterpark tickets. They are around $50 per park per person. And as mentioned before, to add the waterpark option to your park tickets is only $22 per ticket. And you would get up to 10 waterpark visits for that $22 (if you get a 10 day ticket).

If you're going to be staying at BC, I think I might hang off on getting water park tickets in advance. You may find that SAB is all the kids really want. You can always get single day tickets later if you want them.

Great idea.... Yeah no cash so my plan is to spend $10,001!! Might as well add the water park in!!

Thank you everyone... tons of great information!! Getting so much more exciting talking about it!
Thought about doing a villa... really love the pool at the Beach Club though lol
Our airfare is right around $900 round trip so that leaves $9000 for transfer to and from Sanford (that is where we have to fly into). BC seems to be right at $8300 for 10 days with CL and DDP... hoppers too.
Now what about the water parks... I am better off adding them to the package or just getting our travel agent (have to go through them) to get us tickets? I know we would all do them maybe 1 time a piece??
Any great shows or little excursions we need to do or see?

You're going to be 10 days? I don't know what your rules of booking are- do you have to have everything accounted for and booked in advance?

I love the water parks, but BC has such a great pool. I'd look at the tours you may be interested in first, and if there's extra money, get the water park and more hopper ticket.
You can even rent a cabana at the water parks.

http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/tours-and-experiences/ I'd love to do the Wild Africa Trek, but it's too expensive for me.
We've only done 1 tour- the Segway Tour in Ft. Wilderness, and it was so much fun. they also have an Epcot Segway Tour, very handy from BC.
I heard Keys to the Kingdom tour is fun in MK.

If this is your first trip its recommended to spend:
2 days MK
2 days Epcot
1 day DHS
1 day AK
Any extra days go revisit favs or things you didn't get around to. Enjoy resort days,

We like taking an afternoon pool break esp in the hot weather, then go back to another park at night after dinner.

So any extras like cabana rental, t-shirts, alcohol, etc would be out of pocket? Not sure how much "out of pocket" you plan to budget but most of the table service (sit down w/ a waiter) meals you have will cost you an additional 18 to 20% extra in gratuities paid at the time of the meal. There are a few exceptions to this like the meals at the Cinderella's Castle, Hoop De Doo, Luau, etc. I believe all those meals would require two regular dining credits though. What an amazing thing to win! I couldn't believe how easy it was to exceed the $10K mark with those on-line quotes! We don't spend nearly that much on our trips but I pay for everything separately so it just doesn't seem like that much. Being on the dining plan for 10 days AND getting club level will be a lot of food!

Not totally sure of what book rules are I was just asked to figure out where I want to go and they would help from there lol Do know no cash though :(
I grew up in Orlando and both parents worked at the theme parks but that was a long long time ago!!
The way you laid out the days is pretty much what I had planned for. So thinking even though we have 10 full days you guys are thinking I only need 8 or 9 day hopper passes?
Ohh and the night we would get there would be later in the evening... do the hotels dinning areas count in the DDP?

I was wondering and hoping they could rent a cabana in advance for us? And yes no "spending" money! I did look at the the DDP list and saw that some meals were 2 credits but that will work out fine as the 1st day we don't arrive until 6pm and we fly out at noon the day we leave.

I earned my trip for being Top Recruiter with Uppercase Living for the year!! :)

So do you think with CL and DDP it will be too much? Rather have too much then have to spend real money and hear the words I'm hungary lol??

Beach Club has villas :)

I think you should at least price the 1br Villa, 10 day park hopper and more (water park option..rather have it and not use it than want it and have to pay OOP for it). It won't matter if you do 8-9 days..it's mere dollars to add a day once you are past 4-5 days. Add the regular Dining Plan. There's resort restaurants on the dining plan. I prefer most of the resort restaurants over the park choices myself. Worst case the villa is too $$ and you have to stay in a standard room. I'd take the 1br Villa over a standard CL though. I'm not a huge club fan it's not worth the extra expense to me but that's my personal opinion.

I couldn't leave it alone and priced out
Beach Club-standard room CL
10 day hopper + wp
dining plan
=8301.66

hmm guess only 4 can stay in a 1br villa at BC. I swore 5 would fit

I know the villa is really where I would love to be but I can't get it work... maybe my travel agent can???
What you quoted out is exactly what my plan is so far!! Great minds think a like!!

are you set on Beach Club or if you could get a villa and stuff under 10k would you go for that? Old Key West and Saratoga Springs are included in the room discount offer so you could probably stay there cheaper than BC and be in a villa with room!

AKV-Kidani is 10007 so that's over 10k by a bit since you have airline tix. The benefit of AKV is you have 2 bathrooms

what about wilderness lodge villa?

Not totally set but really love the pool area at BC... it is really our style! I check out the others and thinking they really aren't us. Villa's are pricey even when you are thinking "ohhh I have $10,000" it adds up quickly!!

oh I know!

you want to stay with something that's you so if you are set on Bc then I'd def stay there :) Was just wondering if it was narrowed to that or not. No availability at WL villa anyways.

I love the Beach Club after the Poly it's my fave resort. Def my kids fave pool!

Yes, Beach Club Villas would be the best of both worlds. When I used the OPs dates there was availability for a 2 bedroom villa but that is over the $10K budget. For a DVC (Disney Vacation Club timeshare) member they will allow 5 people to be booked into a 1 bedroom villa at the Beach Club. But there is only bedding/linens for 4 and you will have to provide your own. I believe for cash guests they will only allow 4 people in a 1 bedroom. I think the only 1 bedroom villas that will allow 5 cash paying guests are at Old Key West, Bay Lake Tower and Animal Kingdom Lodge Villas because they have the sleeper chair in the living room. OP, you know that the Yacht and Beach Club hotels share the same pool. So if you prefer the theme of the Yacht Club, consider pricing there also. If I were paying with my own money I would never get both club level AND the dining plan but I can see the advantages of doing both. The "regular" dining plan only has 1 counter service and 1 sit down meal included so the breakfast offerings on Club Level would be a nice thing to have, especially if you want something quick and don't typically eat a heavy breakfast. And if your kids like to snack a lot, it might be nice to have extra snacks/drinks from the Club lounge available. You may not find the time in your schedule to partake of the club offerings other than the morning and evening ones. But if you spend an afternoon at the pool you will enjoy the club offerings. We were upgraded for free for a 1 night stay at Hard Rock Hotel last month and my kids loved club level and asked us if other hotels had that. We had a 1 night stay at a Hyatt resort (quick staycation) and paid for Club level there. With a family of 5 it really is convenient and can be a savings but for a long vacation I'm just not sure it would be in our budget to be able to pay for club level.

For giggles

you could stay at
Saratoga Springs in a 2br Villa
10 day PH+WP tix
dining plan
9230.90

OKW 1br Villa
10 day PH+WP tix
dining plan
7860.00

too bad BC villas aren't discounted as much. With it being F/W at Epcot I'm sure they are pretty full anyways

I know it seems like a ton of food for me but don't want to spend anything out of pocket more than I have too! :)
Now help me out having CL what advanges does that give us at the pool?

I have stayed at the Beach Club but many years ago before kids and not on Club Level. It doesn't give you any advantage at the pool that I know of. At least at other non-Disney resorts I know club level can sometimes get discounts on cabanas. I was just thinking of the usefulness/value of paying for club level and I was thinking that for the most part, you would use club level most often in the mornings and in the evenings (before/after) the parks except on the day(s) that you might spend at the resort pool. On those days you would be able to take advantage of the snack/drink offerings on club level. And possibly take the drinks/snacks out to the pool with you although being on the dining plan(1 snack per person per day) and having a refillable mug you might not need to do that.

would they maybe give you the rest of the funds under 10k on a Disney gc? If you go with Beach Club even with CL you would have almost $700 left over.

My oldest is a eater... never having to hear what is there to eat from him will be amazing for 10 days!!!

But if they don't give you the excess funds in the form of a gift card, look into upgrading your dining plan or if you think there is the slightest chance you'll return to Disney (can be sometime in your lifetime), maybe you can upgrade your park tickets w/ the no expiration option. That is a pricey option though. If you use up all your park days it is unlikely you will use all the water park options so you will each have multiple water park days to use over a lifetime. But this is only if you end up having the $700 left over and there's no other way to use it. Wow- adding the no expiration option to your tickets is $1198 more! And upgrading to deluxe dining is $1446 more!
