So this will be our 2nd trip to WDW. The first time we stayed at AKL. Not sure what our "technical" room was, but we were on the lowest floor with a balciny over looking the Savana. We had a double with a bunk bed room. At the time Dh was working for the Disney Company, so we got our hotel room 1/2 off and free admission for 4 of us into the parks. This is the only reason we did the AKL. We LOVED it. The kids had so much fun. We also knew that Disney was selling dh's company and we would no longer have those "perks". Well we are now trying to plan a more cost efficent trip. We are planning on using our tax return and if that is not enough, dh has a part time job. So let me through out some of our questions/concerns and I am welcome for advice.
After staying at the AKL, I am not sure I would be happy with a budget hotel. But with the size of our family, (3 Adults, 5 Kids dd8, dd7, ds5, ds3, ds17 months) I am not sure we will be able to afford something other than the budget hote. I know we want to stay in the park, so another hotel is not an option. Dh wants our room to stay around 150 a night tax included, but I dont see that happening. We will be staying Sunday - Friday, but we are flexable with dates. Also dose anyone know if the larger rooms book up fast at any time of the year?
Thanks for any input. I know part of the problem is trying to convince dh that we need to spend more than he wants for a room, due to our size.
