Where to stay OKW or SSR December 2004?

We are planning on 6 nights for December 2004. We own at OKW and SSR. We have only stayed in 1 studio for 1 night at HHI, so we are not used to studio accomidations, but we want to conserve points and try a lot of different places to eat. This will be our first trip with just our family DH, myself, and DD who will be 7 by then.

Which resort should we try for at the 11 month window?

OKW which will cost 61 points and will leave us with 31 for 2004 UY.

SSR which will cost 76 points and will leave us with 24 points for 2004 UY.

Trying to decide if we would like the 2 Queen beds better or the Queen and sofa bed set-up.

Which resort do you think might be decorated more? Which resort might have more holiday activities? We want to make sure we take in the holiday feel, decorations, etc. We want to do MVMCP and CP. Which are the best restaraunts to try to get PS for during the holidays?

hmmmm. I guess it really depends on whats important to you.

SSR will be brand new, with shiney new decorations, and probably cool new activities. There will be fewer people staying.

OKW has been doing the holidays for years and things might run smoother. No construction going on.

with only one child, the sleeper wouldnt worry me that much. if she hates it you can put the sheet on the sofa (no sleeper) and she'll fit just fine.

Since its just the 3 of you, I'd probably go for SSR. Save OKW for a trip when space is a bigger concern. Then again, maybe you want to stay at OKW and save SSR for a warm weather trip when you can really enjoy the pool.

I'd vote for SSR...because we'll be trying to stay at OKW in the GV.

Just kidding, either one would be great. Disney's always great...especially around the holidays...

of course since SSR is new - I would expect their Christmas time to be pretty wonderful - both VWL and BCV had a better Christmas the first time - of course that could have been because it was the first time - not necessary better....

I would have to say go for SSR also, but since I only own at SSR my view may be a bit skewed!!

Either way I don't think you'll go wrong.

There's one reason why my first reaction was that you should go with SSR-DTD for Christmas shopping. When I was there in December, I went to DTD on a Thursday morning and was surprised at how busy it was with Christmas shoppers. I've been to DTD many times, and found it usually very quiet til mid-afternoon. But not this trip! And it seems that from SSR, DTD would be quicker and easier to hop over to. But on the other hand, at OKW, you get 2 "real" beds, which might be preferable. Tough choice! Sorry I guess I didn't help!

I also vote SSR. Your post said you wanted to try a lot of different places to eat and you can walk to downtown disney.
