Am planning a week long visit to WDW next October (Columbus week) and am planning on doing MNSSHP, but can't decide where to stay. I love the Wilderness Lodge, but was wondering if I should stay somewhere different. I have an AP and am hoping for either an AP discount or a discount code. I should admit that I'm a bit picky regarding the size of a resort. I hated CBR, because it was just too spread out for my taste.

Which of these would you stay at and why?

I will tell you what I think, like you have never stayed there before.

POFQ
This is our favorite resort, small in size and everything is within walking distance of any of the buildings.

Buses share with POR, but pick up and drop off at POFQ first.

You can use all the amenities at POR because they are sister resorts. If you like to swim than between the two resorts there are six pools.

The boats to Downtown Disney are a great relaxing way to go.

You can walk to POR (not that long of a walk) and have breakfast at Boatwrights. (great breakfst)

Also POFQ has the delicious Beignets

All of the rooms have been renovated. (new beds,tv's,etc.) They also have a curtian in front of the sinks. (separate changing area if one is needed) Also now have a coffee maker w/coffee, and rumor is all will have a refrigerator soon.

Wilderness Lodge is our favorite, but taking into consideration a holiday is involved plus the MNSHP, transportation would be a concern for me. With Poly, you have the option of monorail or boat. Also, if you stay at a resort you will have to use bus service for, keep in mind, we were at CBR one year and this poor family with small kids in costume had been waiting over an hour for a bus to MK for the party. The bus service was having problems getting all the people to the park since they all wanted to get there around the same time, give or take.

I voted for AKL since its not on your list of places you have already stayed. I like to try a different resort each trip. I just got back from AKL and loved it. It's a vacation in and of itself. The bus service was also great.

Thanks for the votes & posts. Anyone else??
