Planning on two nights at WDW in may before fantasy cruise. We will spend one day at magic kingdom. Which resort would you stay on? I was thinking poly but it's going to be expensive to go to MK for just one day so just not sure. I like the idea of being on monorail because we can get back and forth quick since we only have one day, my kids sometimes still need to rest. And we are a family of five so that limits our choices. Any opinions would be helpful:) we could stay at AoA for about 600 less.

WL....its only a boatride to the front doors of MK. alot cheaper than poly. spend the $$ for a courtyard view unless a woods view is your thing. All 3 types of food options, qs,ts,2ts......2 bars nice pool use of villas pools. marina for sea raycers...rental bike.

WL is our fave (so far!!!) so that would be a great option, with the boat to MK and easy access to monorail. :goodvibes

Or, how about a garden wing room at CR??

Wl probably wouldn't end up being cheaper b/c in order to sleep 5 you have to get a deluxe room. I'd do POR to save $$ (it would be cheaper than AoA) or the Poly since you will only have 1 day at the park

My vote is for POR. With the trundle beds, you can make it with one room and save the cash. Plus, POR-AB is very relaxing.

didnt catch the fam of 5........really limits choices near MK.

GF too $$$. me ...

id love to do a garden wing room but alas the wife doesnt "feel it" at the CR.

Poly might be your best option if you want quick access to MK.

...POR AB would work if you didnt mind the buses. They arent bad. We liked POR/FQ......as long as the murphy bed would fit one of your party.

We've only stayed at 2 of the monorail resorts (Poly and GF) and our favorite is the Poly, so that would be my choice. We are staying at the Poly after a 3 night cruise in July 2013 as we want to enjoy the resort and hang out at the pool and the beach and for us, the Poly provides the relaxing atmosphere we want :thumbsup2. Plus the rooms are very big and spacious, which is nice for 5 people. Good luck deciding and have a great trip :wizard:.

small Murphy bed now not a trundle. Probably wouldn't be great for a big child or adult but if one of the kids is smaller I'm sure it would be great. That will be your cheapest option for 5 people for 2 nights. If you can splurge I'd stay on the monorail line

We LOVE Port Orleans Riverside! The rooms sleep 5, they have great food options, the recreation is on par with a deluxe, and you can watch Bob Jackson put on a great show at night. POR all the way!

I would stay at the Contemporary. My son absolutely loved the theme park view on his first trip! He kept asking after that why cinderella's castle was not outside his window anymore! You can save some $ by staying in the Garden wing. The location to MK is perfect for a short trip. These rooms are large and perfect for a family of 5.

Thanks for the opinions. I think I will splurge if we can and stay at the CR. maybe a theme park view. I have some dis rewards I can use. At times like this when I am going only a few night I wish we had DVC.

How about Ft. Wilderness Cabins? They sleep 6 - fullsize bed and 2 bunks in bedroom, murphy fullsize in living room. They have their own ferry that runs to Magic Kingdom and have the bonus of luxury "camping."
