We are looking for somewhere to stay on Oct. 17--the night before our cruise on the Magic. Since we arrive in Orlando early in the day I had decided to rent a car and drive to the Radisson. Come to find out, it is totally booked!! Can anyone recommend another property for us? Probably don't want to spend more than around $150. We also will need a hotel with a shuttle (unless there is a car rental return right at the ship????) We were planning on renting a car and returning it at AVIS. Now wondering if we need to adjust our transportation plans???
Your help would be appreciated! :)

the shuttle not alot have shuttles but if u loook at daves site www.dcltribute.com he has a list of places to stay in the area
peter

When you return your car to Avis Saturday morning they have a shuttle which takes you right to the port. The best thing to do is have one person drop everyone at the port and then that person takes the car back to Avis and then Avis will bring them back to the shuttle.

I just checked the site for 10/17 and there were lots of different priced room available.........did you press view all rates?

Thanks for the replies...
I think I discovered why I am not getting any availability for the 17th. I am entering my whole family (2 adults, 3 children) and then getting a message that there is nothing available. I just changed the info to 2 adults and no children...I got a whole list of rooms that were available. Does anyone know the "specs" on these rooms? There was a Carribean style room, a standard room and a King one bedroom suite. Could my family of 5 stay in any of these???
Your help is appreciated!

**UPDATE**
I just discovered that although there are several room rates listed when you click "check all rates" when you actually go to reserve on of these rooms there is no availability or the only rooms available are smoking. It looks like rooms really are in short supply here.
I will check Dave's site for other suggestions but does anyone have any first hand experiences with other hotels at the port???

You might want to try calling the Radisson reservation line directly. You never know there could be some error in the website. The number is 1-888-201-1718 or call the Port Canaveral Hotel directly at 321-784-0000. We are a family of 5 and stayed there last year. There is plenty of room for everyone in the one bedroom suite but if you get the one king bedroom suite you have to request a roll away bed for the 5th person. I think they charged us and extra $10.00. The one bedroom 2 king suite would be perfect. Good luck.

We are renting a car from Budget. Does anyone know if they are close by the port and if they have a shuttle to the ship??! Also, has anyone taken the Nasa tour before the cruise? We are going 2 days early in order to see it...thanks!:earsgirl:

yes Call the rad directly , and ask for the GM
his name is Joe P. tell him your association with these boards and i bet she will find u a room ....

just a bit back there was a thread on the boards a
a few guests where not happy and she is taking this matter very seriosly ........

i have bumped the rad thread on to page 1 it is entitled why i wont stay at the rad.... we loved it beeen several time and the norm is that it is a good place to stay before your cruise

Budget is about three blocks down the street from the Radisson. Avis is about 1½ miles down the street from the Radisson. Hertz is a couple blocks beyond Avis. National is another 2-3 miles beyond Hertz. I have all of their locations noted on my Space Coast map...
