Where to rent car near DL

We will be staying at the Del Sol Inn and would like to rent a car for one day mid-stay to drive to San Diego. Is there a nearby rental car agency that you would recommend?

We have used the Alamo/National immediately next to the Alpine Inn on Katella. They have a shuttle for you and everything (or just walk, honestly).

Is this the one in Downtown Disney? I had thought there was one in DTD so I googled it and the name it gave me was Alamo.

There is a Dollar rental car just a few doors down from Del Sol at Anaheim Plaza.

I was going to use Hertz because it seemed the Alamo was not open during the weekend but I would love to hear otherwise.

We are renting a car from Alamo which is located in Downtown Disney - we are walking from BWPPI.

There is ALSO a DTD Alamo.

But the one I'm talking about is on Katella, basically in the same parking lot as Alpine Inn. And has National, too.

We used Hertz on Katella (for the weekend hours). It's just near GardenWalk and was an easy stroll from Desert Inn & Suites, then to Portofino Inn when we got back.

We are renting a car at LAX to drive to Anaheim, we land at 7:25 am and it is not a planned park day. So going to do some sight seeing, I researched this within the last week or two. The Alamo in DTD is open till 6 on Sunday. National was the only other one open till 6 on Sunday, the others Avis, Dollar and Enterprise all close at 4 on Sunday.

The Avis on Katella close to Bubba Gumps. I think that is who we are going with since we want to eat at Bubba Gumps, just drop off the car, eat, head to DTD then the hotel. We are staying at the Fairfield Inn just across the street from Disneyland. If anyone on here is familiar with the area....is this walkable? From what I was looking at figured it was about a mile and 1/2 walk.

Sounds like a similar place to the Hertz. We walked from Desert Inn & Suites (just opposite the park, a couple of hotels closer towards Gardenwalk). I didn't time the walk, but it wouldn't have taken any more than 15 minutes. I would probably allow 20 minutes from Fairfield. It would be a similar time to DTD too. I'm assuming that you'll have already dropped off your luggage in the morning, so you won't have to worry about that.

Per googlemaps, .9 mile. About 19 minutes walking also per googlemaps. Easy easy. If you go right out to Katella from the agency, turn right, get to Harbor, turn right, go up Harbor. So easy.

Most all car rental locations allow for after hours drop off- park the car in designated spots, drop keys in key drop and done. So, as long as you are picking up at LAX, you should not need to factor in the closing times of the rental locations in your decision of who to go with

When I was looking online, if I requested a drop off after closing time where I wanted to drop off, it would not even quote me a price. Told me car unavailable for hours I was searching.

Not sure if it is because we are renting in one location and returning to another location.

I got that too and we were returning to the same location. I think some of the smaller depots at hotels etc just don't do it.

None of the rental agencies will let you reserve a drop off time when the office is closed, but if they allow drop offs you can probably schedule a return time during operating hours and drop off the car later when the office is closed. Of course you should first check with the individual offices for their drop off policies.
