I am going to try and get reservations tomorrow for some cool places to eat with my kiddos. We arrive at DL on the 15th. I have 2 daughters 10 and 5 and a 2 year old son:love:

I was thinking Ariels Grotto for my 5 year old and the Blue Bayou for my 10 year old. They love the little mermaid and Pirates. But will it be to late? We will be there the 15-18.
Also I am taking my Dad who is 50. HE is more interested in the fab 5. Suggestions?:cool2:
Any alternatives if I cannot get these places?

Thanks a million , April

we had good luck with Goofy's Kitchen with only a 2 week lead time. The meal was absolutely wonderful!!!!!:goofy:

Ariel's Grotto is great with kids! I'm not sure if they will have any reservations but you can try everyday until you leave...you can even call from the parks to see if anything opens up.
Pirates/BB is a huge hit with us, we love it there!! Again is there is nothing today keep calling, you never know when someone will cancel. Also, be open to eating at off times, the first meal of the day or the last lunch of the afternoon. Sometimes it's easier to get in then. Good luck!!

Maybe we will see you there!! We are doing Ariel's Grotto on the 15th for my DD's b-day breakfast.

If you're able to get reservations at BB for the first meal of the day and if you get there around 15 minutes early, you're pretty much guaranteed a water side table.

Good luck with your reservations!

Have you looked online at the menu for BB? Depending on the 10 year old, food-wise it might not be worth it, if it's just for him.

I booked Napa,Granvilles, and Storytellers just 2 weeks before and lucked out.

[I second the vote for Goofy's Kitchen. We had a wonderful character interation and dining experience there. I've never done Ariel's Grotto, so I can't really compare, but if you can't get that, try for Goofy.

I'm calling today to book Lilo and Stitch breakfast and hopefully Napa Rose for that same weekend..

The main courses might not be, but the cookie boat will be. Plus, since he's ten, he could probably order off of the kid's menu with little difficulty (depending on how old he looks and the fact that he has a younger sister, they might just assume that he's young enough for a kids menu). If your son is really into pirates, I say def. try to get reservations at BB because he will LOVE it.

It's not just for my 10 yr old daughter but since she is a Pirate fanatic I am sure she will love it. And she loves Monte cristos so that helps LOL.

Okay so I made my reservations.
We are eating at the Rain FOrrest Cafe on the 16th. We are arriving later in the day and are just going to be at DD that day.

17th I was able to get the Blue Bayou at 11:15 a.m.:cool1:

18th I was able to get Ariel's Grotto at 4:20 p.m. It was a little earlier than I wanted but I am still pretty stoked!!!

Thanks for the help:)

Great. Glad it worked out for you. We will be there the 15-18. I just made a ressie last night for Goofy's Kitchen for the date and time we wanted. I was thrilled to get in. Maybe it will not be too busy that week after all...

I would do Ariels Grotto, but not Blue Bayou, we went on Friday with our kids, DD's 10,6, and our son 3 they could have cared less about it. It was dark quiet and no real pirate atmoshpere. I would say it is more for the parents than the kids. In fact our kids were the only really little ones in there. My dd 9 got a $13 steak and I had the ribs, our other 2 had mac and cheese $7.99 it came with grapes. We went to Goofy's kitchen Thurs. and they had much more fun (and the same Mac and cheese was on the buffet) I still have the pirate hats, with the kid menu on it from Blue Bayou PM me if you want to know what is all on it.

My DD10 has been reading the Passport and has asked to go to the BB. So we are going to wing it and keep the ressies. Hopefully we will like it and if not at least we tried.

I have always just walked into Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen in DTD. And the food was GREAT!!!:thumbsup2

That's what we did... Atleast we can all say we did it....
