We will be at WDW (2 bedroom OKW) in October using ME -
so not having a car.
Is it better to use Gardengrocer, Wegoshop or
get a cab - if you said get a cab -
what grocery store is the best ?
Also do they sell beer and wine at the gorcery stores in FL. ?
Thanks for your input.

We usually go to the grocery store in the strip mall just outside of DTD, past the hotels. I forget the name, Goodman's or something. They have beer, wine, liquer. They are a little pricey on some stuff, but good brands, selection, and quality. I have read that you can even pre-order from them and they will have it ready for you when you stop by on the way "home" from the airport. Oh, they also seem to be open late too.

It has been 3 years my last visit so I may be off, or things may have changed.

Do not get a cab - costs the same or less to rent a car for an entire 24 hours, which we do every year at OKW from Alamo at the WDW Car Care Centre - DVC members get a 20% discount. The shuttle will pick you up at the resort and take you to your car, then drop you off wherever you want on WDW property when you take the car back. We go to the Walmart Supercentre - not sure of the road name, but we go to the Crossroads from DTD and turn right, and it's about 4-5 stoplights on your right. They have beer, wine, coolers, lots of good food (and cheap), and a super Disney souvie section for our budget. I think the gas last year cost us $4, probably $5 this year, but still better than a cab. (Cost my grandma $40 for round-trip two years ago when she broke her glasses and we went to the Walmart optical center for an hour, could have rented a car and took our time shopping!).
Have a great trip - we'll be at OKW in 43 days.

Whatever you do, you should AVOID GOODING'S AT ALL COSTS.

They are very overpriced and (at least the last time I was there) have poor selections of vegetables, meats, deli items, etc.

JMHO.............

I like Winn Dixie, less that half a mile from Goodings. And on the corner of the parking lot is (or was… I haven’t been in four years) a liquor store that sells wine and beer for a bit less than in the grocery stores.

How do you get to Wal-Mart or Winn Dixie from SSR? Or is there a close and easy drive to a Publix? Have had good luck with them also. I have had it with Goodings; let's rip off the tourist! Also their produce is lousy by Florida standards.

Use Marge at Wegoshop. She always does a great job for us. Delivery fee is way less than the price of renting a car just to do your shopping. She will shop at the store of your choice and buy the exact brands that you request.

Ok, I have not been in a few years, so maybe Goodings went up. I will have to check out the other options next time.
