Where to get a last minute boutineer?

My daughter (9th grade) was asked to her first high school formal. The date has snuck up on me (Saturday) and we haven't ordered a boutineer yet. I hope it isn't too late. I don't want to spend a fortune. Do you think the Kroger florist would be cheaper than an independant florist? Which will be more able to do this at the last minute? Thanks!

My mom owns a florist. It's not to late to call and order. We actually found out last year at prom that the kroger right down the street was charging more for Bouts that we were! So I would just call the local florist if I were you. It shouldn't be more than $10, we charge $8.50 and Kroger was charging either $9 or $9.50. However if you walk in the day of the dance and want it made while you wait when the shop has a line of customers you can expect the price to be a bit higher! lol

Thanks so much! What do kids order these days? A standard rose boutineer? Her dress is an emerald green and I have no idea what he is wearing.

A grocery store would most likely be less expensive than a florist.

Although, IMHO - a florist's boutenier will look nicer.

My experience has been - the grocery store bouteniers all look alike.

We have found a unique little florist - about 2 towns over, they charge about $15 for a boutenier, but because it is "out of our area" the bouteniers that DD picks out are "just" a little different.

And - DD was just mentioning tonight she needs to go pick one out for the upcoming turn-about dance.

And - sorry, this is getting long - ask the florist exactly how to pin them on. There is a little "trick" to the pins, and it is just easier to ask the pros.

My daughter forgot to preorder one for her boyfriend for an occasion. We just popped by the grocery store and the lady did it right there in front of us. It looked lovely and looked like the boutonnieres that many of the boys wore that night. Men's boutonnieres are simple looking ....most men I know prefer it that way so the inexpensive grocery store ones look fine.

I called the independant florist (where my husband said he always got his dance flowers when he was in high school) and it was only $6.50. I didn't even bother calling anyone else. Thanks for the help!
