My husband can be very picky about a good steak. Would love to surprise him with a great filet while at Disney at the end of Sept. on free dining plan of course. Would like the restaurant to be at one of the parks. We are staying at POR. I guess one of the monorail (easy access) resorts would be OK if that is the best one.

Suggestions? We will have 3 kids with us at all our meals, so real fancy is out.

Thank you.

Le Cellier has great steaks. We really enjoyed this meal.

We second Le Cellier!!! The Yachtsman at the Yacht Club is also suppossed to be very good. Le Cellier is 1 TS and The Yachtsman is 2 TS. That might make a difference. I have also heard that The Concourse steakhouse is very good, it is in the CR. We are not on the dinning plan but are eating at all 3 during our honeymoon! We like steak!!!

Yes, Le Cellier has a great steak.

Also good, but not at the park, is Kona Cafe (at the Polynesian). My mom had a wonderful filet mignon there.

I'll make it five Le Cellier...But I plan on trying the Yachtsman Steakhouse over at the Yacht Club next trip.

Narcoossee's at the GF has a fabulous filet. It was "melt in your mouth" good. We eat a lot of steak and it was easily the best one DH or I have ever tasted.

In the interest of equal representation, I'll suggest the Yachtsman. ;)

Its been a favorite of mine for a couple of years now. Love the filet.

Yachtsman! True quality cut-with-a-fork filets comparable to fine steakhouses back home.

Another fan of Yachtsman here. We enjoyed Le Cellier too, but nothing was really "WOW" to us. At YSH, everything was amazing. In fact I will be back there 1 week from tonight!!! :goodvibes

Yatchsman steak house use not very good when I was there in Dec. I don't understand because of all the great reviews but I will not go back. Shula's was the best steak I have ever had. Great food, great service. Don't know if it is part of the dining experiance.

I agree with Benedict - Shula's has the best steak DH and I have ever had! Expensive though - and not on the dining plan. :(

I had one of the best steaks I have ever eaten at Yatchsman and the atmosphere and service were terrific.

California Grill!!!!!!!!!!!!

I went there on my honeymoon and got the filet mignon. I asked the waitress if I could please have a knife. She grinned and said, "If you need a knife, we did something wrong." I cut into the steak w/ my fork and it was so tender a knife would be a waste! I laughed and said "Boy are you correct!!"

Went back this year and had another filet mignon. It ROCKED!!!!

Since real fancy is out, how about Concourse steakhouse? Pretty mid level as steak places go, and the lobby commotion, monorail, etc might provide some diversion for the kids.

I've had filet at least once at every WDW restaurant that serves it except the Brown Derby.

Kona--It's "OK" but there's a LOT of better places to get filet. Kona does have EXCELLENT food, but filet is not a specialty of the house.

Narcooses--See Kona, and we've had service issues there several times. Not sure when or if we'll bother going back due to the service.

Citrico's--Has a great filet, but again there are other menu items while they excel in. It's also a more sophisticated and upscale restaurant with a dress code, so probably nto right for the OP.

Concourse Steakhouse--We had good but nothing special filet there. However it might be an option for you, it's kid friendly and casual, and a short, easy walk from the MK.

California Grill--I've had some pretty good filet here. It's upscale and has a dress code, and is probably not what you are looking for.

Artists Point--They ruined my filet by overcooking it terribly, I actually sent it back, it came out a second time still over cooked. Other items there are great, but not sure I'll order filet there ever again.

Yachtsmans Steakhouse--Has recovered from a major decline a few years back and has very good food. It also has a dress code and is not a place you'd tromp into right from a park.

Shula's--We had excellent steak there, but it's not inexpensive, and by not offering a kids menu, charging a meal splitting fee, and offering free kids care at the Dolphin Kids Club they make it clear in so many words that kids aren't exactly welcome. They also have a dress code.

Le Cellier--We've had filets that ranged from good to excellent here. IT's casual and kid friendly, and is right in Epcot. It's probably going to be your best bet.

Bistro de Paris--This is also in Epcot but offers upscale dining with a dress code and no kids menu. My filet was OK, but far from the best I've had.

Jiko--This is the best filet meal I've ever had anywhere. It's simply incredible. It's also an upscale restaurant with a dress code.

Bottom line, I think le Cellier is going to be your best bet.
