We've narrowed it down to a few choices. As we're staying onsite at The Poly hubby would prefer to eat at Disney but I've heard The Renaissance has a fab buffet with unlimited champers!!

Here are our Disney choices...

Cape May Cafe, BC

Olivia's, OKW

Gullivers Grill, Swan & Dolphin Resort

Whispering something!, Wilderness Lodge

Also if anyone knows where I can get sample menus for Christmas Day buffets I'd be very grateful.

Thanks

Lisa

That would be the Whispering Canyon Cafe Lisa.

I'd recommend making your Priority Seating for Christmas Day soon!

I'd pass on Olivia's if I were you. The menu is OK now, but nothing special and the decor (tiled floor and hard surfaced walls and windows) mean that it's noisy with a small number of people in there. If it should be busy (and IMHO Xmas day it's one of the few times that's likely) it could make for a stressful meal.

Cape May would be a good choice and I've had Xmad day at Boma's before and it was a very enjoyable experience. It was nice that the kids could look over the savannah while we waited for the table to become available and the food there is excellent. Obviously it depends on what you're looking for, but I would also offer the opinion that Whispering Canyon ( a pretty "happening" venue) , while fine of other "quieter occassions" could also get just a little too lively on a big day like Xmas day. For most people it may be OK, but if you prefer a slightly relaxed Xmas lunch you may find some of the younger kids get just a little too hyper on a big day like Xmas day.

To be honest, Gullivers Grill had the nicer sounding menu and I was told that the characters would be there so we've gone for that. But I'm still not sure we should've gone for the Renaissance in terms of nicer food...

Gosh, hope I've done the right thing!!! We'll be visiting Wilderness Lodge for a nice hot toddy though as I'm sure it'll be fantastic on Christmas Day -oooh I'm all excited ;)

I've always fancied Gullivers Grill and I'm sure you'll have a blast Lisa - it's soooo exciting :)

Hi! I'm booked for Boma's, party of 7 for 8pm xmas day. I am a little disappointed I couldn't get an earlier booking, as I guess we'll miss half the fun, by it being too dark to actually see any animals?!

Anyone been before? I would really appreciate any tips or thoughts on where they have eaten xmas day!

We did TGI Fridays last time which i always love, but it was just a meal at the end of the day, no xmas feel about it really.

I always like the Liberty Tree Tavern in the MK for Xmas, while Mama Melrose's and Brown Derby at MGM are also first class. Restaurant di Alfredo (Italy) at Epcot or the Rose & Crown (not normally my favourite, but great at Xmas) are both worth trying. The Renaissance is spectacular at ANY time of year, but especially at Xmas, while I would think the Gaylord Palms would also be well worthwhile this year with their new Ice Palace feature.

Oh Simon, now you've thrown a spanner in the works by mentioning how great the Renaissance is. The problem is that I'd like to go there and hubby wants to do Disney, I wish someone would come on to say how awful Gullivers Grills is and how great the Renaissance is ;) ;)

We are eating at LTT xmas day PS on the first day we could and only just got in at 4pm phoned a few days later to book our new years eve at canada in epcot and managed to ghange LTT to 7pm but there was no outher times left my advice would be get your ps sorted out now even book at several places you can allways cancel them be careful that you dont leave it to late.

We ate at the Boma last summer and were extremely disappointed. Don't know if they were having an off night but we thought the food was dreadful.

We have booked at the Gaylord Palms - I'll report back!

Just booked in with friends at the The Grand Hyatt Cypress, Chritsmas Day Buffet $38.00. It seems excellent value to me. Try to book a christmas day Meal in a top class Uk hotel for less than £50, you cant. Can't wait.
