I'm looking for ideas of where to stop and eat on our way from Sanford to Orlando. Our flight gets into Sanford at 12:40 pm and we will be driving to Wyndham Bonnet Creek. We probably won't want to spend a lot of time at a restaurant but would like something other than just a fast food chain restaurant. Our flight is tomorrow, 4/29, so if you have any suggestions please let me know right away! Thanks!

We usually arrive mid afternoon when flying into SFB so we are ready to eat so we generally just head into Sanford for a late lunch before heading to WDW.

There are a lot of restaurants if you head out of the airport into Sanford along Lake Mary Blvd (turn right when you come out of the airport).
SR-17 crosses Lake Mary Blvd less than a mile past the the entrance to SR-417 (the toll road that goes to WDW)
Lots of restaurants along SR-17 in both directions (I think more to the north - turn right at the traffic lights). There is a Walmart here too, great for a grocery/snack shopping trip.

If you don't mind driving to WDW down I-4, Lake Mary Blvd goes all the way through to I-4 and has quite a few restaurants and shops in the last mile or so before you hit I-4

Sorry, it was just a map view google search of restaurants in the area (sanford florida restaurants lake mary blvd).
Only seems to work if you open it with Chrome, any other browser seems to choke on it.
I'll just delete it.

Just back from a fantastic trip! We were starving when we landed on Friday, so we went to a local restaurant I had read about on tripadvisor, the Corner Cafe in Sanford. It was an excellent start to our vacation! Highly recommended! The owner, Chef Michael, was super nice and went out of his way to help us, and the food was wonderful!

Here's how he went out of his way to help us;
The roads near the restaurant were blocked off that afternoon because they were getting ready for an art festival. I didn't know how close we were to the restaurant or if they were even open so I looked up their phone number and called to ask. The owner himself answered and then walked down the street and around the corner, after asking where we were, and led us to a closer place to park. He then walked us in through the back door of his restaurant to shorten our walk. He went above and beyond in service! The food was so good and he said if we cleaned our plates, which we did with no problem, he would give us dessert! The mini desserts were also quite yummy. I can't say enough good things about the Corner Cafe and I look forward to going back next time we fly into Sanford!

Oh, also, when he found out we were heading to the Disney area, he had me come behind the counter with him while he brought up a map to show me what route to take to avoid extra traffic and delays since we were getting a late start heading out (it was a little after 3, we lingered over lunch and enjoyed talking to Michael). He even went so far as to hand write the directions for us while showing me on a map. Wonderful!
