Just looking for some ideas on where we should eat the night of MVMCP? Should we eat at the MK or should we eat at one of the MK resorts. Please share what you have done and liked.

Thanks!

You will get so many different opinions on this.

I prefer eating in MK for a nice sit down meann with my ADR no later than 5:30p; that gets us out of the restaurant by 6:30p -6:45p.

I've eaten at Chef Mickey's, the Castle, LTT, CP, and Tony's before parties.

I enjoyed CP and Tony's the most for the food and the atmosphere. We didn't enjoy the food at LTT and the Castle is just too expensive now.

Some people prefer eating outside the park and then heading to the party.

Some people prefer eating a CS meal instead of a sit down meal.

Some people prefer eating really early, around 4:00p, rather than later.

I do suggest though that you do NOT eating during the party as there are so many fun things to do that you paid extra for.

You'll have to decide what's best for your family and your schedule.

Have fun planning!

Our last 3 MVMCP we ate dinner at CP. This past MNSSHP we tried Chef Mickeys and hated it so this year we will eat at Kona, try to change it up a bit!

We ate at Kona before MVMCP and will be eating at Kona before MNSSHP this year (our first) - it's nice to eat away from the park - hope on the monorial and head to the party. :cool1:

This year we were thinking of trying CP prior to the party. Last year we ate in our hotel at Boma and that worked out too. Are the dates listed yet??

We like to eat at narcoosee before MVMCP. We make a reservation around 5:45, and then we can watch wishes from the restaurant. Then, you can just hop on the monorail and head over to the party! :cool1:

We have gone to Crystal Palace the last 2 years. They do close early before the party so I think the latest reservations are like 4 something. That day we eat a bigger breakfast and try to skip lunch so we will be hungry for the early dinner. As soon as we are done eating we go get our wristbands. As the other posters said I definetely would not eat during the party, there is too much going on and you have paid good money for your ticket and want to get your moneys worth etc. We only stop for a quick hot chocolate and cookie break that comes with your ticket. Best of luck. You will love the party.

Just an fyi...CP, the Castle and the Plaza are not open for the party but they do take ADRs usually up to an hour before the park officially closes.

I've eaten at CP, the Castle and Tony's all at around 5:30p.

We're planning to be at AK in the morning on 12/10 (Monday night), go relax for a while after being out there, and then go to Ohana for dinner. After that, it's a quick monorail trip to MK for MVMCP. It will give a better "grand entrance" to the party than if we'd been at that park all day long.

The first year I poured over these boards and was so excited to book LTT at 6:30 before our MVMCP. It was a disaster, our service was bad at best, the food was cold, after an hour and a half we asked for the bill before waiting for dessert. DD was upset she wanted to be at the party, Dh was irritated and thirsty from the lack of a drink refill when eating ham. It just wasnt working for us.

So last year we did a 4:30 at 1900 park fare before our party. The plan was to eat and head back to the party. Which would have worked better except it didnt occur to me that when the place opened at 4:30 all of us hungry people would be circleing the buffet at the same time. And with them NOT closeing the park to guests, doing wishes at 6:15 it was a nightmare moving into main street to get going on our party.

So the park fare idea was better than LTT and we did get to see wishes that night 2x but it was still a hassel. You couldnt move a stroller anywhere and it has us thinking maybe we wont do MVMCP again this year. I had wondered about doing a cs but maybe we will just snack our way through the night if we do ever do it again.
