Where to eat before MNSSHP?

Hey, experts...where do you recommend to eat prior to MNSSHP? I was thinking about Liberty Tree Tavern, the Wave, or Kona, since they have availability for an early dinner.

Thanks!

I would go with the Wave. Its great food and we had a bad wait once for MVMCP at Liberty Tree. We had a 5:45 but didn't get out until 7:30, it was horrible trying to get Dd to wait because she felt she was missing the party.

We did the Wave last year before MNSSHP and it was great. Very relaxing atmosphere where you can recharge before heading out for the fun chaos of the party.

This year we're doing Kona Cafe before the party - we've never been so we want to try it.

Also you want to get a 5:00ish reservation so see where you can get the earlier reservation. :thumbsup2

Out of your choices I would go with LTT since it is already in the MK. When we go to MNSSHP in September we are going to be eating at CRT before the party starts (4:20pm ADR). Another one of your choices I like is Kona Cafe....the food is good and the desserts are excellent.

our hard ticket event restaurant of choice is always Crystal Palace.

We are eating at LTT, 4:20 ADR. Having a late bkfst that day, hanging by the pool and then heading to MK for dinner and then the party. Can't wait!

We did CP last year. It was great we entered the park at 4pm walked up Main St. and got a few photopass pics then went to check in at CP. We were seated within about 5 minutes which was a huge bonus because our ressie was actually for 5:15pm but we were hungry and asked if we could get in early. It was really nice to walk out after dinner and start the party.

Some of the MNSSHP alot of the in MK restaurants are pretty packed as alot of the shows are during Free Dining as well...so I'd choose soon!:)

We chose Liberty Tree Tavern as we wanted all you can eat without characters and wanted approachable food that would sit well in our bellies

Thanks for asking the question! This is something I have wondered too! I currently have 6:50 reservations at Tony's Town Square (only time I could get reservations for) It's Friday Oct. 22nd. And I am wondering if I should go to a resort restaurant around 5 or so instead!

I asked this same question a while back and most people advised me to avoid a dinner ADR on the day of the party. Reason being, the restaurants are crowded for early dinners because a) people are booking the early dinners who are staying for the party and b) people who are not staying for the party have booked early dinners so they can eat before 7:00 when the park closes.

However, I don't think the party would have the same effect on the resort restaurants, so if you were going to do one out of the park, I wouldn't be as concerned about the wait.

We are taking a different approach on our party day. We are going to head to MK at 9:00ish the day of the party, maybe hop on a ride or two, then have a brunch at CP at 10:20, and heading back the Poly to rest/swim.

Then, we will return to the park for the party around 4:00 and will do counter service for dinner.

Don't know if my plan would work for you as well, just trying to give you some other ideas and options.

We have an ADR at Crystal Palace at 535pm on the day we are doing MNSSHP. That gives about 1.5 hours before the actual party starts. I love CP. The salmon is to die for and I'm not a big fish eater. Plus there is Pooh and friends.

For MNSSHP we keep it simple and do one of our few CS meals. So much to see and do at MNSSHP, we eat at our usual dining time but skip having one of our typical leisurely vacation meals.

We eat at Cosmic Ray's. DD digs the alien lounge singer... and I think they've been known to sometimes have a dance party in there on party nights?

we did Cinderella's Table for dinner at 4:05 before a party last September...it was wonderful way to kick off the party. I'd do that again, or do the Crystal Palace before 5:00. Not sure I'd trust Tony's to get done...we had good food there, but slow service and slow meal (took about 1.5 hours)

I would not do any dinner ADR after 4:30 on a party night -- figuring it will take you at least 45-60 minutes to eat & settle up, then get transport if needed. You do not want to be just coming into the park right before the party starts! The lines of people coming in were big from about 6:00 on, as well as the crowds leaving the park. If you can't get an ADR between 4 & 4:30, I'd just plan on eating counter service that night -- you don't want to be missing any of the party you paid for.

When we got done eating in the castle, they were already scanning party tickets & giving out the party wristbands & trick/treat bags in the rose garden area, so we were all set for the party by 6:00...able to enjoy a few rides while waiting for the party to start.

A few years ago we had an early ADR at 1900 Park Fare, it was 6:30 before we entered the park. There's so much going on during the party, we felt like we arrived too late to get organized.

We will be having lunch at CP this year returning back to our resort to rest then entering early so we can check out what going on and at what time, make our decisions as to what we want to do and see and at what time. We will grab something from the counter serve restaurants. There really is a lot to see and do. To get in as much as possible you do need to plan ahead.

I stay in the park while everyone returns to the resort the night of the party, to do my shopping, there are a few items that can only be purchased at the party. One is the MNSSHP tee shirt.
