Where to buy pirate themed clothing?

Okay, I'm not much of an internet shopper. I like to have my family and I a chance to try clothes on before buying them. That said, I would like to buy a few things for our upcoming cruise for pirate night. Our family isn't into dressing to the nines for any occasion, so we're not looking into dressing as pirates and wenches and such. Basically I'm looking for a pirate themed Tshirt for each of my boys (ages 11 & 12) and my husband isn't keen on wearing Tshirts in HOT weather. He'd rather wear a hawaiian type shirt. So I'd love to find a pirate themed "hawaiian shirt" for him. Wear would I find something like that? If I HAVE to resort to buying online, I will. But I don't know where to start. I've searched online under "pirate hawaiian shirt" but didn't find much.

Any ideas? Does Disney sell such items?

Try disneystore.com, they have alot of pirate themed merchandise and much of it is on sale right now. You could try ebay for the Hawaiian shirt. We had Aloha Mickey button down shirts for our trip to Poly for the boys; not sure if they make a Pirate Mickey one tho.

While not pirate themed, Reyn Spooner has some of the nicest hawaiian style shirts. I always enjoy looking through their store when in Hawaii. Nice shirts, not the cheapy hawaiian shirts. I will be buying several prior to my cruise.

They have many styles of Disney shirts, from the "in your face" Disney to having to really look to notice it's Disney.

Their main page is www.reyns.com
The link directly to the Disney shirts is http://www.reyns.com/SC101_Services/SC101_Shopper/showCatalog.php?menuId=30

Don't forget to look through any clearance section!

And if you just want to get some inexpensive "accessories" like sashes, bandanas and eye patches, you can always go to www.orientaltradingcompany.com. The site has a whole section on pirate gear.

Although I do like the skull and crossbones shirt -- may order for the hubby!!

Good luck.

After reading her trip report and seeing the pictures; I think I will just send $$ to Craftymouse and beg her to make our pirate wear! ;)

Seriously though, We have months to find something to wear, but most of what I have seen is cheap, cheap, cheap looking plastic/vinyl stuff that I don't think anyone but a kid trick or treating would want to spend an evening in.... maybe enough of the pirates rum and I will think it looks great! pirate:

Gecko1 - I agree, after seeing CraftyMouse's I went and found some costume patterns, going to try it myself. I'm alittle "crafty" myself.

I have bought a Hermione Granger cape (from Harry Potter) from buycostumes.com. It was a little pricey, but very high quality. Not like the costumes at Wal-Mart at Halloween time. This was a heavy, warm cape made out of fleece. Was very happy with it.

We just returned three days ago from our Disney Magic cruise to the Western Caribbean. The shops on board have so much Pirate stuff for purchase that you don't even have to bring anything with you if you don't want to. You can just buy everything there from t-shirts to jewelry, to hats, swords, eye patches, earrings, and even complete outfits for boys as well as girls. I didn't, however, see any pirate-themed Hawaiian shirts on board. You might just want to try a plain white long sleeved shirt, some black trousers and buy a pirate sash with sword and sheath, a pirate hat or bandana, an earring, an eye patch and some pirate chains for around the neck and VOILA! pirate: Instant pirate! Good luck and Happy Cruising!:cheer2:

You can also try Billy Bone's Locker: www.deadmentellnotales.com . They have a great selection of all things pirate! pirate:

I agree ....and you can get the stuff delivered to the port , which is what we did - it was a lovely surprise for the kids :goodvibes

PS You can place orders from the UK :thumbsup2

Another good place is the the Pirate Shop attached to The Pirate Museum at Nassau (short walk from the ship) for those of you doing a short cruise.

We got ours today.

I can only post pics of mine, DW does not like her pic out there unless she knows you folks.
