where to buy mister fans

I am so bummed. I searched and searched my wal-mart and did not find them. I will check another wal-mart tomorrow. I really want these.

It's been horribly hot and dry in the Tampa Bay area and they are imposing water restrictions. (Remember all those fires a few years back?) I think I'll take my son to the beach today and check out the temperature of the gulf. If it's going to be this hot all summer it means more intense hurricanes. We'll probably be doing a lot of evacuating this year.

I asked store assoc. and they didn't know either. I wonder if since I live in the Northeast they are only a seasonal item and aren't out on the shelves yet....

I'm in Ohio and just got two mister fans at my Wal-Mart yesterday. They were in the same aisle and the regular floor and box fans, but WAY up on one of the top shelves.

I asked an associate too and she went and asked a manager nearby and he went into a loooooooooong
spiel about how they haven't arrived in our area yet and it's too early in the season to find mister fans here, yada, yada, yada...I mean he practically held a seminar on Wal-Mart seasonal stocking procedures! -- afterwards I checked the fans aisle just for the heck of it and what do you know.....there they were! :rotfl2:

I found this smaller misting fan for $3 today at Wal-Mart....

It's a little less bulky to carry....

It's about the size of a stick of deoderant. It takes 1 AA battery, so it may not be as powerful as the bigger fan....but, they are small enough for everyone to carry....so, you don't have to worry about carrying several big fans or having kids fight over who gets to use the fan.

Speed :teleport:

Not to sound silly, but does this have water in it or is it just a personal fan? Thanks for sharing!

so, if it holds water, how many sprays would you say it had? I love the size of it, but if the kids want to stop every 10 feet and re-fill it, that could be a problem. Anyone try it out?

I NEED those!! GOtta have them.... Been to 4 different Walmarts... It is now becoming an obsession!! Dont know if its because of our location (MA), but out of 4 stores I have only found a tiny regular fan that has the clip..no misting!!! If anyone in MA finds one, please post which location.

If I find them I can always buy extras and if anyone has a paypal account I can just mail them....

Wish me luck... I'm off to another Walmart!!! :rotfl:

We looked *everywhere and finally found them in the toy section..along the back wall...with the pool/goggles and other summer toys. Thanks OP and for the person who shared the picture so we knew what we were looking for!

I am going through the same obsession! :rotfl2:
I live in MA too (near seacoast & NH border) and so far I think I have found every other type of mini fan but none that are mini fans AND mist. I have looked at Target, 2 walmarts, CVS, Walgreens and I also looked on ebay.

Can someone who got them maybe pos the UPC number, perhaps that will help the local Wal-Marts to know if they have them or not by checking the computer? I didn't see them at mine today, I did find the regular MisterFans for 4.96 each. They also had the MistyMate which uses no batteries just a pump that you push and then is mists water out, that was 9.96. I went for the 2 regular ones instead so wach DD can have one!
If anyone has any ideas on the little ones (ie how wel they work, how much they hold, etc) I know it would be appreciated but all here. Thanks!

Forgot to mention that neither am employess in Seasonal nor toys knew where the MisterFans were. I went to the Hardwars sections and found them myself after knowing that pepole here mentioned it was near the box fans. Thank you or I would not have them!!!

It is called Carabiner Misting Fan. UPC is 5524709711. There is also a website listed on the package, maybe you can buy them online?? www.o2-cool.com They were a bit less than $3 ($2.88 I believe) at Walmart.

Hey, priotiryonecb, we are on the same page, I Googled the item after my post and found that website, unfortunately , they do not sell direct from three. I found another website that did sell them but they were 7.50each! (and I assume S&H too).
Thanks for the UPC so mayble me local WalMart can help!

We are taking it out of the package as I type....to see how it does and how long each "fill up" lasts. I'll let you all know the outcome of our little experiment! :rotfl:

Experiment complete! Yes, we are a strange family! :lmao:

With one fill up...the fan pumped and misted 165 times. Not bad at all! It's a very nice sized mist too. We estimated we'd probably mist 4-5 times per "misting need".

The blades also do *not hurt at all if they touch you while spinning (we've had a few of those that hurt like heck!). It has an on/off switch too which is really nice saver of batteries. I also like that it only takes one battery.

For those who are new to misting fans, be aware that it is very easy to accidentally flip the switch to the "on" position but not be aware of doing it, especially if the fan is in a bag, etc.

To prevent this, I've learned to flip over the battery when I am storing the fan temporarily. It is easy to flip it back over when you are ready to use it, but that way you don't pull it out when you are burning up and discover that the battery is mysteriously dead. This trick also keeps really small kids from running down the batteries when they are really only wanting to play with the sprayer.

Another thing to be aware of with bottle fans is that if you drop it, it is almost a sure bet that the battery compartment will come open and one or both of the batteries will fall out, possibly getting lost. If I'm letting little kids use them, I wrap a rubber band around it to hold the battery door shut in case of drops.

yippee

  Success!!!!!

I found them at my 5th Walmart!!!! I was by myself shreiking in the middle of the aisle! I told myself I was going to go up and down every aisle!!

Found them in the fan section on an end cap.....

Yeah!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

sharperimage.com has them in 2 sizes -- really nifty small ones that will fit in your pocket. There's also an online coupon for free shipping and $15 off of a $50 order. The mini mister fans are $12.99 and the larger ones are $19.99. I know that is higher than the $5 you will pay at Wal-Mart, but these are pretty nice and still better than paying $15 for a cheapo one at Disney if you can't find them locally before you leave.

Oh by the way...... They were only $2.99

Hi all,
I tired posting a link to a misting product i found in a previous post, however I do not have permission to post url's sooo. the best I can tell you to do is go to the discovery channel store web site and do a search for a mister misty. the maker has their own web site but buying direct is way to expensive. In short this is like a pump up garden sprayer with a very small nozzle opening, it makes a fine mist, very cooling and pocket size. hope this helps.
