where to buy mister fans

I haven't looked for them yet this year, but we bought them last year at Target for the kids to take to camp. Target had them in 2 places--with the sun screen and also where all the beach/swim stuff was.

We love them. Just make sure you bring replacement batteries with you--they're absurdly expensive in the world.

Our Walmart never got them last year and I haven't seen them yet this year, but I did find them at Publix. I payed $7.99 each, but it's still better than paying the Disney prices. HTH

I was looking at them on Ebay...some of the sellers have the ones with the wide opening so you can fill them with ice and water. This would be great since you can get free cups of ice at WDW. Plus there was free shipping!

I have been trying to find one at walmart and target. Tried three walmarts in all the areas mentioned above and asked employees but they have no clue what I am talking about... Looked at two targets and no luck there either. Maybe I will try ebay!

In addition to the mister (I got a "Misty Mate" at Walgreens btw, they advertised on tv a few years back - it puts out a fine mist, you pump it with air pressure, then you "mist" spray around you to cool off the air - I think it was around $20) I like having a "fan" - I noticed they have the tiny ones at KayBee Toy Stores near the cash registers, they have a light that when you turn the fan on , it spins colors, the fan "blades" are soft foam - so you do have to be careful about ripping them off!! :thumbsup2

I know this isn't a misting fan- but you can get a personal mister at Target in the travel size bin sections for 99 cents. Basically its a small misting spraybottle, but I figured I'd fill it up and put it in our fridge in the hotel room overnight to get it as cold as possible and the kids can spritz themselves silly when we run around the parks.

I did spot them in our Wal-green's yesterday for $7.99

I finally found them at WalMart. The first place I had checked for them was in the fan dept last week. I went back last night and there they were! This is what I have the option to buy....any opinions?:

MistyMate: No fan attached; goes around your waist (can't remember $$ but I think $15-20)
Smaller MistyMate that is in a bottle with a belt clip($10) No fan on these.
misting fans ($5)
small fans(no mist) on a key ring that were $1 each

I bought the $1 fans to go in my kids "guess what? we're going to Disney gift bags" that they are getting for their birthday in 3 weeks. I am not sure what to buy otherwise. The misting fans that were $5 were bigger than I expected...I saw that a PP mentionned mini misting fans...that actually sounds what I am looking for....where did you find those?

Thanks for all your help.

I replied to this post a couple days ago with the exact same thing...about the size... They seemed pretty big and was wondering where firedawg got his....

Firedawg...are you out there???? :cheer2:

I found this smaller misting fan for $3 today at Wal-Mart....

It's a little less bulky to carry....

It's about the size of a stick of deoderant. It takes 1 AA battery, so it may not be as powerful as the bigger fan....but, they are small enough for everyone to carry....so, you don't have to worry about carrying several big fans or having kids fight over who gets to use the fan.

I've gotta get one! In which department did you find it at Wal Mart?

Thanks for that picture! I am going to look for that one this weekend! Do you all just fill them up at the drinking fountains?

Our Wal-Mart usually places these small personal fans on the end cap around where the box fans and window a/c units are located.

I've never had a "mister" fan in the parks...but, I would fill them at the drinking fountain or in the bathroom sink.

Thanks speedyf. That's the size I was hoping to find. My WalMart had the fans that were that size but not the mister fans. I will have to try another WalMart in my area.

Hey, I'm Central MA and I found those exact ones at the Lunenburg Walmart. It was in the homestuff section for things like water filters and bathroom organizational items, in the same isle as the big rubbermaid garbage bins (bought one of those while I was at it). I asked three employees, who were no help at all, but I didn't give up. I bought the expensive AA batteries to go with them because they claim to last longer AND weight less than regular batteries, so the kids won't mind clipping on their own. Good Luck!

I have never gotten one because of the size. We leave in 2 weeks and it looks like it is going to be a hot one. I am off to Wal-mart in a couple of hours now to find it.

I just bought the same ones yesterday at WalMart .............. and for the same reasons. :rotfl:

And for the poster who asked, I found them right in front of the checkout area where they had displays of suntan lotion.

I'm in SW Florida and it is very, very hot here. Unusually hot! It's been in the 90's everyday which is not normal for this area.

Any of you folks from the northern tier who are coming down soon, please take the heat very seriously. It can be brutal.

Yes, please. SE Florida is terribly hot too. We just came from the beach and lunch by the marina, I'm exhausted and a bit pink in the face, even though there was MUCH cloud coverage and I used sunscreen.
