Where To Buy Cowboy Boots for Dude Ranch Trip

Hey all! I need some help here. My best friend was one of the winners of the Smuckers/Jif Most Memorable PB Moment essay contest last fall .
And she selected me and 2 of our other friends to go on the trip with her! We will be headed to Parshall, CO in June for a week at a dude ranch.

I am very excited about this trip as I have never been to a dude ranch before -- I'm more of an "indoor" girl

So, here's where I need your help. I need to bring riding/cowboy boots (as per the list sent by the ranch). I've done some research on-line and most of the boots I have found are upwards of $150 -- with most being closer to $200. I think that I would wear whatever I buy again (at least occassionally), but I don't really want to spend that much money for something that I probably wouldn't buy if I didn't need to. Any ideas as to where I can find boots that are comfortable yet don't cost an arm and a leg?

What size shoe do you wear? I wear a size 8 in women's but when I buy cowboy boots most size 6 children's boots fit me just fine. Children's boots are much cheaper. The last boots I got were Justin's ropers (low heal) and the childrens boot's were $50 and the exact same boots in women's were $150.

What area are you from? Make sure the boots are comfortable right when you try them on, you may need to try several styles, brands, if you can. You shouldn't need to break them in-you may never wear them enough to do that.
My sister works for Justin, and she can tell me a retailer close to you. We have an outlet here (FtW.Tx) that has great prices.

I have just started looking for new riding boots and they are quite an investment, but you can get a good pair anywhere from $80 - $200 or more. I really don't wear cowboy boots to ride. I like lace-up (they feel more secure to me). What I look for is a slight heel and not a lot of traction - heel stops foot from going all the way into stir-up and light traction helps foot not to get caught in stir up. Justin and Double H put out some good ones.

I went to yahoo yellow pages and did a search for Western Wear for Charlotte. I came up with Lebos.com and they have a store in Charlotte.

I suggest going there to take a look and try some one. I also suggest going the lace-up route. There are so many different styles and things to look for depending on what you want them for. Me, the last pair I bought I didn't really like because the sole wasn't good for dancing. I had cracked the sole of my old ones after too many hours two-steppin'.

I live in my Fat Babies, they are only $89 at Tractor Supply if you have one near you.

I have several boots by Ariat and love them all. I ride in them, I wear the better pairs to the office, I wear them dancing at the bar, I just wore a black paisley pair to a wedding with dress pants. I just love them! (my oldest pair is 5 years and still going strong.)
