Where to buy a DVC AP nowadays?

I have to buy DD a DVC AP for our mid Dec trip. Usually I just purchase at guest services on arrival day. Should I purchase beforehand? I dont know if with all the changes in MDE I should buy ASAP. We are booked at Kidani ( may change to SSR) if that matters at all. Thanks.

Do you want to make FP+ selections for your trip? If so, you should buy her AP voucher now. Once you have the voucher you can link it to her MDEx profile and make FP+ selections.

You can buy over the phone with Member Services or on the WDW website...

If you do it over the phone the MS rep should be able to help you link it to your daughter's profile.

Thank you. I am out of the loop. I thought FP+ was just in testing still. I will definitely order the voucher then.

Ok, I went to order the voucher but dont know whether to choose will call and pick up ticket there or standard mail. If I want it for FP+ do I have to choose standard mail? Also, does the AP expire the date I turn in the voucher for an actual ticket or the day I order the voucher? TIA

I use will call and had no problem linking the will call number to MDE in order to make FP selections. The voucher is not activated until you take it to the guest relations window and exchange it for a real annual pass. After that it expires one year from that date. You do need to activate at a guest relations window (not the resort). They only require the will call certificate (or the number from it), your picture ID and your DVC membership card.

Nothing goes on your Magic Bands. The bands simply have a chip that reads your profile, and anything linked to it, in Disney's database. If you link your AP vouchers to your MDEx profiles you will be able to make FP+ selections at 60 days out. Then, when you arrive at WDW, you will take your vouchers to Guest Relations at a park or Downtown Disney to activate them and get your actual AP. Sometimes they will like the AP to your MDEx profile for you and sometimes you have to do it.
