Where are the best places to stay which are not too pricey but clean

we are family of four (Kids 7 and 4)

Any recommend anywhere and also where would you buy your tickets

some has suggested quality inn plaza?

Any ideas

You don't state your preference on area,I'm assuming that you want to be off-site? You basically have a choice between Kissimee,I-drive & Lake Buena Vista,we have always stayed in LBV as it's a bit quieter yet still in the middle of everything. for cheap & cheerful but clean, the Comfort Inn was fine & you also have the option of a Kids suite- basically a double bed with bunkbeds in a partitioned off part of the room & the kids get their own TV. The Springhill suites would eaily fit 4 -with 2 double beds & a fold down sofa bed. If you want even more space then check out the Staybridge suites-which have a full kitchen

You won't be dissapointed in Florida then!

We stayed in one of the Quality Inn's on I-Drive back in '97. It was OK, but nothing special. 2 big beds, air-con, TV, bathroom etc. As you can guess there are loads of places to stay from basic rooms like this to suites and villas. Shooby has already pointed out somewhere and I'll bet others can help in your quest. As you're (rightly IMHO) looking for value, I'd stick to looking at off-site hotels and apartments. While on-site is convinient and [cliche]close to the magic[/cliche] you will have to pay for it in both accomodation and food / drink.

As for tickets, I'm planning to follow the advice of other on here that have used Mapleaf Tickets and buy them over there.

Happy planning!

If you are looking at a budget hotel, presuming you are renting a car, I would go for the LBV area - that's mainly because personally I would prefer to stay there than on I-drive.

I agree that MapleLeaf is an excellent choice for your tickets as we have used them a few times.

Congratulations on making the switch to Orlando, you will not be disappointed at all. Orlando leaves DLP standing in its wake.

I think it is difficult to answer your question without an idea of budget or expectations.
We stayed on site for the first time in September last year when we got married at WDW.
We spoilt oursleves a little as it was a Honeymoon and went to the Animal Kingdom Lodge for the second half of the holiday (previously on I-Drive).
If your budget permits, on-site has a lot of benefits. The biggest bonus is th transportation system. You can get buses virtually anywhere else onsite and you dont need to worry about driving and parking costs.
The service at Disney needs no explanation - simply perfect.

However, on the flip side, I-Drive is also excellent. A slightly cheaper place to stay and absolutely spoilt for choice in terms of restaurants etc. Also good for Universal and SeaWorld, but to be honest the furthest you need to drive to get anywhere in the Orlando area is only 20 minutes.

Why not have a look at the Disney All Star Resorts for value? Pop Century is also well regarded. Alternatively, the I-Drive resorts tend to be very much the same, so perhaps look to be slightly towards the north, around Wet n Wild for the most amount of activities/restaurants/shops etc.

I agree with JohnnySharp2. Am not particularly keen on I-Drive - too tacky and touristy for me (ok, I know that Orlando is touristy, but this is the most condensed and tacky bit for me). LBV would be nicer, I think :)

On-site, at Disney, is definitely an option - although you pay for it (more expensive than off-site). If you want to go "completely Disney" it is an option.

If you are interested, definitely worth checking out villas too - more freedom, space and privacy that hotel rooms.

If you are happy to do so, think it is a great idea to hire a car - just gives you so much more freedom.

Have lots of fun planning :)

We stayed at the 'Sheraton Safari', LBV, last year :thumbsup2

Not the cheapest place in the world but they seem to have a lot of offers if you sign up to the Sheraton site :)
It's very near to the entrance to Disney and there are shops and restaurants within easy walking distance :goodvibes
Much nicer, in my opinion, than most of ID but not as convenient for transport options if you don't want to hire a car :sunny:

At the lower end of ID (the quieter end) is the Wynfield Inn - we stayed there on our first ever Orlando trip. It was in a great area, across the road from the I-Ride trolley and Lynx bus stops and within 10 minutes walking distance of SeaWorld. Absolutely no need for a car there I'd say if you choose not to rent.

Have to agree on Mapleleaf tickets - had tickets delivered to the UK, ordered them online to collect when we arrived and, also, just walked in to buy.
Great service every time :wave2:

Quality Inn Plaza is on the south end of I-drive, and that end is a lot quieter. We stayed there is 2004, and it was fine. Basic, but clean. Room had two double beds, sink area, bathroom with shower & WC, iron, ironing board, hardryer, fridge, microwave, coffee maker & safe. There was myself, DH & DS who as then 12. Room was actually bigger than ASMo where we stayed last year.

Would stay at QIP again. Restaurants, shops & mini-golf all within walking distance.

I have stayed in Florida several times with and without children. Last time we stayed in Best Western Plaza, opp the Mercado. We loved it!! This year we are staying in Quality Inn Plaza. The reason we like it is bcause you are not tied to one place. My wife and I love walking around and trying different restaurants. Last time we tried Tony Roma's (Steak) the Olive Garden (Italian) TGI Fridays (American) and Mexican food, the name eludes me at present. My son also loved the Pirate golf, 4 at the time. On I Drive you are central to everything. I would like to stay on Disney but the prices are so much more expensive. Yes, there are benefits I am sure but the biggest problem I can see is the fact you are limited in what you can do. I prefer to save our money on hotels etc and spend it more on food, presents and the like. Also as my wife and I are two hard working nurses we have to watch our pennies. I am sure that whatever you dcide it will be fantastic because it is florida. :thumbsup2

I totally agree we have stayed in the QIP 6 times and going again september. i know a lot of people say bad things about this hotel but we have never had a problem with it and the location is great lots of things to do. whats the point in paying all that money on a hotel when your not in it very long just to shower and sleep.
