Where should I buy 50 additional points?

We recently purchased 150 SSR points through Disney but I think that I may need 50 more. I purchased them during the F&F promo at $83/point and I feel that now they will want $93-$98/point. Should I look at the resale avenues and can they even sell in 50 point increments?

I suppose it depends on how quickly you want the points. If you bought from Disney, you would pay more but you will be guaranteed to get the '05 points if we haven't passed into your use year in '06. That is, if you have March UY or later, and bought in February you would get the '05 points, but you probably will have to negotiate in order to bank those '05 points if you are late in the year and past the banking deadlines. Those points are worth something.

Yes, there can be resale contracts for 50, the smallest contract out there would be for 25 points. If you bought from Disney, you would get your same UY, if you bought resale, you would buy whatever UY is available. When we bought resale, we stayed with our UY March, and it was just a bit harder to find contracts to buy, but we added on resale twice, once for VB 150 points and once at VWL 50 points.

You could finance the points through Disney if you bought the points from them.

I recommend you call your guide and see if they will still honor the F&F price for your add-on. If your contract has not closed yet, they may be able to help you out.

With 150, I would keep the same home resort and UY. 50 point contracts are hard to come by on the resale market and it is best to contact each resaler and let them know you are interested because most small contracts never get posted.

One other thing is that with the smaller contracts the price of the points tends to be higher and the buyer has to pay the closing costs. Those factors typically wind up bringing the price of the smaller resales up to the price that you would pay Disney, especially on the sold out resorts.

To be honest if it were me, I would buy the points where I own. 50 points isn't really enough (at least for my family) to allow us to have a nice vacation at a different resort.
