Where is the pic of boardwalk villas refurbishment?

When is this happening? I thought I saw a huge coffee table in that pic? Not sure how that is saving space? Are they replacing the appliances too? I like the beach club refurbishment pics but it seemed like the ones at boardwalk are half fast. Anyone have any info on this? I can't remember where I read it.

DVCNews posted several photos in its article about the 2014 Annual Meeting, including one showing the BWV refurbishments. Click here for the article.

Thanks for the link.

This is the first time I have heard about them adding the trundle bed at BWV. As for the picture of the BWV refurb....it looks like a hospital room. Ugh! If I were a BWV owner I would be upset.

Well I never cared for the shade of green or the pink the used recently. Hopefully the new one will be less hospital like than the old stuff. The hallway rug looks interesting, but I really liked the one with the roller coaster.

I think both are very uninteresting and so lacking in what made Disney stand out - unique themes and special attention to detail. Unfortunately VWL gave the perfect indicator of the direction things were going. :sad2: I'm not normally a pastel person but there's something about the current BWV design that I really enjoy. This disappointed me the first time I saw it and nothing has changed in that opinion. The hallway rug is the only interesting bit going on although I'd think they could just replace the existing with the same pattern - it's very cute.

Oh my goodness, I just saw the BCV & BWV proposed refurbishments. YUK, they look like rooms at a Motel 6. Cheap and harsh looking. UGLY. I thought the villas were supposed to be modeled after a villa on the Boardwalk or on the Beach... warm and inviting. What they are proposing looks nothing like a villa you would find on the Boardwalk or on a beach. :worried:

Whatever is happening to DVC???? Is it all about saving the Disney money? How very sad. Is there any way we can change what is proposed?

No way to change anything, Disney is in charge.

Members pay for all refurbishments, the design work, all employee time working on the project, the materials, labor to fabricate and install, supervision, and any other costs.

Disney has proven that they have the ability to provide a beautiful, well designed product using commercial grade products that will clean and last well. My assumption is that DVC doesn't use Disney designers and they are doing it themselves keep all of the money.

My first indication of DVC management problems was a few years ago when a team of suits were walking around SSR looking at pictures and paintings hanging on the walls. I asked what they were doing and they told me that they were trying to decide which pictures or art to swap out to make a fresh look. My first thought was "it takes 4 managers to decide?" my next thought was "what's wrong with the existing pictures and art?" my next thought was "how do I get hired for that job?" and my last thought was, "hey, DVC SSR owners are paying these guys to wander around changing wall art".

Yikes i could not agree more...those are awful and cold and motel 6 like..what the heck are they thinking. Well maybe one more stay at BWV and then on to the resale market for us. I don't want to stay in something that looks like that. What has happen to Disney and DVC. Very Sad:sad2::sad2::sad2:

I'm not going to react since these are just artists renderings. My dd worked at DVC at SSR while they created the models to sell. Often they were being done and undone even before they were sold. She was aware of the BLT model, but she recalled one time when the "suits" came in and the entire décor was changed. The basic hard furnishings stayed the same, but everything else was changed out.

We owned at BWV and wanted to add on and chose SSR after touring the model and we loved the look. Same with BWV but if this is the new "route" (this seems to be their new buzz word lately) they are going... I'm out. So un Disney like

i have always love bwv and thought it was beautiful. i have not seen the new look. does anyone have pics to post?

I'm glad to see the studios will get a coffee table. That's one thing that was always missing. When I stayed there last October, I pulled a chair over from the table to put my food on while I watched tv.

They had actually said in an annual meeting around 2000 or 2001 that they were going to add the coffee table! So I'll believe it when I see it.

The Villas are horrible! Nothing matches and they are cold, sterile...very generic. We dislike the refurb so much, we moved our next ressie...split between the Poly and BLT.

BW was our favorite for so many years. Now, I have no desire to stay at the resort

Boy that is the way I feel, it looks like someone went to a yard sale and mixed and matched... cold and sterile no style or looking like anything belongs together

My thoughts exactly!

I stayed in a refurbed studio in December and liked it! I think it looks better in person and it's better than the old pink and green with the ugly comforter and mismatched bedskirt. Loved the big screen TV.

We visited last week (1BR) and I was shocked. The metal bamboo chairs with arms at the dining table took up too much space and are out of place. I feel the same about the light fixtures and lamp (don't match). Basically, the faux wood floor and the chairs at the breakfast bar are the only things I like. Actually, the bedroom hasn't changed much and still has carpet.

BTW..We had a split stay at the Poly. WOW..what a difference. The Studios are beautifully and appropriately decorated.
