Where is my FAVORITE DCL cast member?

Thanks very much indeed! How can I ask DCL to get her again?

Simply contact your Travel Agent ...
- If you booked through DVC - contact DVC
- If you booked while onboard a DCL ship, but listed a T/A, contact the T/A, not DCL
- If you booked directly through DCL and did NOT list a separate T/A, call DCL directly

When you reach the proper party, reference your reservation number, and tell them you would like to request "FIRST & LAST NAME" from "COUNTRY" as "TITLE". If you do not know someone's last name ... you will need to know their home country. Please understand, there are multiple people with the same or similar first name in the same departments. As an example, there are currently two Palo servers named on the Fantasy.

As a side note, when you board the ship, it's generally a good idea to personally confirm your request ... ask where this can be accomplished, once you board the ship.

If you really like a specific cast member, consider asking if they are on Facebook. Many cast members are on Facebook, but some opt to retain their privacy. If you are able to become FB friends with a cast member ... please ask them to send you a note when the begin / end a contract. Explain to them why you want to know ... and then (please) post that information on this thread ... assuming they permit you to do so.

I am so happy to here that Gede is still on board!! He was our assistant server in 2003! We were one of his first. Too late to request him though, we sail on the Magic 11/10. :sad1::sad1:

Actually, you may request a change at any time ... even during the middle of a cruise. Normally, seating assignments for the MDR are made approximately two cruises in advance. In your case, since you are sailing very soon ... you might want to request Gede once you board the ship (see the previous post for specifics).

The seating assignment(s) for Palo is slightly different. If you have not made an advance request, your seating position and server is is not assigned, unless/until you show up at the restaurant. You are certainly able to make a request at any time you are on the ship (ie: board ship Saturday AM ... have Tuesday evening reservation at Palo ... you are able to request a server at any time ... up until you walk in the restaurant.

Laszlo Gion / Hungary, Disney Magic - Palo Server: LASZLO IS BACK ON THE MAGIC (through April 25,2014)

Radoslav (Rado) Hristev / Bulgaria, Disney Fantasy - Main Dining Room Server: CURRENTLY ON VACATION

New favorites after our last cruise. Mizar (server) and Bianca (asst server) are new favorites! Both no the Magic currently and provided us with the best service we've had on 9 DCL cruises.

I know that when JD returns to the Wonder from his vacation, he'll be stepping up to the Club Host role. I was told I can look forward to seeing him as Club Host when I sail in January.

Club host? Like a concierge host?

Too bad, I can barely afford a veranda, let alone concierge. JD was such a cool guy, hopefully I can find him on board next summer. I truly believe he will be a cruise director one day, he rocked.

Not many comments on here from the Wonder, starting around April I am going to be reving up my search for a great server for next summer. Hoping Harry Simons, the head server, is still onboard.

Joshiie Birdine!!! We LOVE him! Just joined the magic from the fantasy a few weeks ago, according to his FB page. Last I knew (about a month ago) he was working towards club host (if I recall correctly) he was hosting the sail away party! I'll miss his face on the fantasy!

No, Club Host is a lead on the Cruise Staff team and is the person who primarily hosts the family and adult entertainment events in the nightclub area (for example, "Match Your Mate" and the 7:30/11pm cabaret shows).

I know in the past I have seen people ask about Richard from France, one of the head servers on the Wonder. We wondered about him as well so we asked Fitz, our HS on the Magic.

Fitz advised us that Richard is now a Dining Room Manager on the Wonder.

Also, Mladen is taking some time off but should be back next year. Not sure what ship he will be on.

Does anyone know if Yhokey is still a server on the Fantasy?? Also Ashley (aka Bingo Blonde) was promoted to assistant cruise director, anyone know if she still is are what ship?

Thanks

while I hate to repetitive, I don't expect people to look back on this thread to see who I am looking for, so there is little choice to ask the same question:

what happened to WAYNE the DR MGR on the Magic 3 yrs ago? There was 1 reported sighting of him but nothing new. Anybody?
Bueller?

Thanks Steve-will request Laszlo at Palo in January

Enjoy! Remember to tell him you heard about him on DISboards!

Laszlo is an active runner, and fitness guru. When he gets time off in port, he likes to run. I found out, he has a computer program which suggests routes to run (all over the work). He typically starts his run from port ... running a specific distance away from port. When he turns around, he goes at a slower pace ... taking pictures along the way back to the ship. That way, he gets in a work out, while sightseeing on his way back to the ship. Great idea! :smokin:

The best server and asst server: Aziz and Meisa, posing with my son in the photo below.

They were our servers on the Disney Magic last May when we did the first NYC cruise. LOVED them!!! Would love the pleasure of having them again some time. They truly were "excellent"!! :thumbsup2

We've ALL seen or heard of a guest celebrating a birthday while on DCL. Frequently, a server (MDR or Palo) is notified, and a birthday cake or dessert is presented to the guest, with other servers joining in with birthday wishes. Many guests enjoy the caring thoughts of appreciation and recognition ... BUT ... what about the cast members? THEY HAVE BIRTHDAYS, TOO! During a cruise in 2013, we learned our Main Dining Room server's birthday was upon us. We adored him so much ... we wanted to do something to recognize our server's birthday. Here's what we did ...

1) We summoned our Head Server ... indicated our server's birthday (Sammy) was upon us
2) We asked our Head Server if WE could present our server with a birthday cake / dessert ... and sing Happy Birthday to him
3) As you may know, cast members are NOT permitted to consume any food prepared for guests (it is grounds for immediate termination)
4) A Head Server is able to authorize a deviation, which would enable a cast member to have (eat) food which would normally be prepared for guests
5) In order for a cast member to be able to have this food ... a Head Server must authorize it in writing
6) In our circumstance, the Head Server informed our server that one of the guests at our table was celebrating a birthday
7) As is normally the case, the server brought out a birthday dessert, and was joined by several servers from surrounding tables (to sing Happy Birthday)
8) When the servers arrive at the table, the Head Server would normally announce a birthday for Guest "x." However, in this case, the Head Server indicated it was Server Sammy's birthday ... and lead everyone in a rousing rendition of Happy Birthday TO OUR SERVER ... Sammy.
9) Upon conclusion of the birthday wishes, we told Sammy the dessert was FOR HIM! Ordinarily, servers know they are not permitted to consume anything prepared for guests. However, the Head Server told the server the guests asked for the server to enjoy his birthday, and his birthday dessert.

The surprise and joy on the face of our server was unmistakable. Think about it ... these servers jump through HOOPS to take care of US. This was a small token of appreciation from guests to a server. Please consider random acts of kindness towards your cast members. If you know their birthday month ... ask your Head Server if you can sing Happy Birthday to your server (don't forget the cake / dessert)!

KNOWN SERVER BIRTHDAY MONTHS: (posted, with permission from the named cast members)
MAY: Ivan Frick (Hungary) - Palo Server / Fantasy
MAY: Laszlo Gion (Hungary) - Palo Server / Magic
MAY: Sompong "Sammy" Poonchuroensuk (Thailand) - Main Dining Room Server / Magic
SEPTEMBER: Radoslav "Rado" Hristev (Bulgaria) - Main Dining Room / Fantasy

(If you know the Birthday MONTH of a DCL Server or Assistant Server, please contact me via PM. I will obtain the information from you, and update this thread)

We are friends with Mladen and the idea of seeing him again almost made me cancel our Fantasy cruise in favor of another Wonder back to back!

the server birthday thing is quite nice....

i suggest starting a separate thread since it will get buried here inside this ever lengthening "have you seen" thread.......
