Where is a good place in WDW to get engaged at?

If she has a sense of humor, i love the suggestion of Monsters Inc.

You could send a text when they ask for them in the waiting area. Can you imagine it?

"This one is from Steve from Michigan. Kathy will you marry me?":goodvibes

My DBIL proposed to my sister at Disney. On our first night there, we were supposed to do a fireworks cruise - but had to cancel due to weather. I'm guessing he was going to propose there perhaps? To his credit, he wasn't deterred! We were staying at the BWV, so the two of them just walked down to the bridge near Epcot to watch Illuminations. It was rainy and chilly, so he stood behind her and put his hands in her pockets. A few minutes later she reached into her pockets and pulled out a ring!

In hindsight it's a good thing the ring didn't end up in the water - but for them it was perfect. A fairly secluded spot, great view, and true surprise.

Whatever you do - good luck! Please don't leave all of us hopeful romantics hanging. Post some pics when you get back! :-)

A little advise for you... if you pop the question in front of the castle it is something that is done pretty often & it's not private but it is rememberable and it won't cost much.

I got engaged two years ago about the same time (Nov) actually. If you have a little extra to spend I would sugguest going to the Grand Floridian & haveing a private balcony dinner. It will be four or five course meal, you get your own butler & if done at night you can view fireworks from the Magic Kingdom. That is what I did, also ordered a glass slipper from Disney & was delivered & ring inserted in the middle of it. All I had to do was place the calls, & be there on time.

For a person that loves Disney it would be the perfect way to pop the question. Everytime my wife tells the story everyone ahws until they hear the part about the "Glass Slipper" then there jaw dops. It'll cost you most likely about $250 for everything but for me it was worth it. A one time cost.

Depending on what you're going for... 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian has a Cinderella dinner. I've heard that the step sisters like to ask guys to marry them. you could whisper something to a server, maybe one of them could try to pick you up,. Your gf will be cracking up laughing. you could say something like "I'm sorry I've already found my princess" or something, and turn and propose to gf. Not the best idea I ever had, but it is different.

Best wishes to the two of you. May all your dreams come true.

First of all, congrats. This is great. Being that I have a solid amount of time before I even think of popping the questions, I'll give you my ideas. There's been plenty of spots I've passed where I've thought "wow, this is where I'd propose".. but heck.. I'm a hopeless romantic..

Anyway, a few ideas:
- The bridge between England (?) and the rest of the World Showcase during Illuminations - the best view in the park and if you time it it'd be great..
- Play the hidden mickey game. Maybe have a CM help you out by planting the ring somewhere (nearby and watching it, of course). You decide to play the hidden mickey Ears game and find all the hidden ears. The last one you point out is a small one with the head being the ring (I know, awesome)
- Another idea: A ride that takes a picture (ToT, RnR, etc.). You go on and sit next to them (obviously). Know when it takes the picture and have the ring box open with the ring out. The camera should capture you holding hte ring box out. When you get off the ride and run out to see your picture, she'll probably ask what you're holding and when she turns around you'll be on one knee.
- Also: California Grille, Narcoossee offer awesome views
- Beach at Poly
- Boardwalk

My husband proposed to me at Disney.

We had dinner at narcoosee's at the GF, then he wanted to walk on the beach to the Poly to see wishes. We took a stroll and then found a spot. Right before the fireworks he said he found "something" in the water. It was a note in a bottle that he made with apoem. He read it and proposed. Then the fireworks went off. Later in the room, the resort (AKL) had prepared champagne, roses, strawberries etc. It was perfect!

I am a low key person though and he knew that. I would have freaked if he did it in a park, although I think that is cute for some people. This was Disney but more intimate.

If you're looking for grandiose and fun(ny) I saw a very successful one on the bridge in front of Splash Mountain that culminated with a minor soaking right after she said "yes".

If you're looking for quiet/romantic, there is a garden in France in the World Showcase where Sleeping Beauty does autographs occasionally, but for the most part it's extremely quiet and picturesque. My wife and I have used the space for a quiet 10 min lunch, and during that time only saw 2-3 other people which was nice. (Go into France towards the Eiffel Tower, turn right through the perfume store and go through it, and you'll be in the garden I'm describing.

Also, depending on time of year/day you could end up on certain rides alone. In October, it shouldn't be too hard to end up on a boat ride in The Land, or even in Mexico at Epcot just the two of you. They're relaxing, and interesting - something different.

Good luck to you! My wife and I will be there in mid-October too! Great time of year at the parks!

My DH "re-proposed" to me there, on our anniversary. (He really never asked- we just kinda got married.) I wish we would have had the foresight to have someone take pictures because it was so overwhelming for me that the memories are almost blurry.

But I did say yes. Again.;)

AND POST PICS SO WE CAN SEE!!!!!!!

Seriously, I'm very nosey and I would LOVE to see the outcome! :thumbsup2

By me, any place in Disney World is a good place for a proposal! In 1984, my future husband proposed to me in the first aid station at the Magic Kingdom! We had gone there because I had blisters on my heels, so I sat on the chair, and he said I'll put the bandaids on for you. So while he was down on one knee putting bandaids on my heels, I suppose it occurred to him that he should let me know he wanted to marry me! I did and still do find it so amuzing, but it makes for a wonderful memory that I cherish. We have been married for 27 years now. We went to Disney World for our honeymoon in 1985, and we stopped in on our last day to the first aid station, and I sat on that chair again and my husband took my picture, so I could have a picture of where my husband proposed to me!:bride:

My fiancé proposed at the end of the half marathon!! Although I found it romantic, in the end he technically proposed to be in a parking lot at Epcot :)

How exciting! :love::love::love::love:

Whatever you do I would suggest talking to Disney about getting a photopass photographer arranged to capture it.
Or you could do it on Splash Mountain so it's in the ride photo?

On Characters in flight?

'd go with what ever is special at Disney for the two of you. If she likes Buzz Lightyear, do it there, if she has a sense of humor, go for Laught Floor, if she's a romantic, go with a princess theme. You know her much better than we do. What does SHE like?

If you could get them in on it the laugh floor would work well

Congratulations! My fiance proposed to me about two years ago. We came back to our room after our day at AK, and he had Disney Florist set up a rose petal arrangement which I saw first thing as I walked into the room. When I turned around to look at him to ask what that all was, he was on one knee! Proposing in the room sounds anticlimactic but I was not expecting it at all, so I immediately burst into tears. I would have been really overwhelmed if he had done it in a public place with strangers watching. After a few minutes, I was able to sit down and call my family and compose myself before going out that night to celebrate :thumbsup2

A word of caution with Disney Florist - he had requested that the floral arrangement be set up any time after 5pm, so that it would be there when we came back after our night out. Instead, they set it up sometime between 9am and 2pm which threw him off and to him, ruined the surprise a little. It all worked out for the best, but if you are setting something up with them that is time dependant, be wary since they don't seem to fill requests.

I did it at the plaza rose garden if you want to get good memories i did it there where the photo pass guy is so we took a normal picture then i tol here i wanted one of her alone and at that tine i told the photographer and did my move i love the photos he took

I saw a video of a proposal on the beach at the Poly just after Wishes, it looked beautiful and there was no one else around either. Keep us updated, I'm sure whatever you choose will be beautiful and she'll love it!

A word of caution: if you hope to catch a candid moment on film, don't do it in a crowded area of the park (which is admittedly pretty much everywhere), no matter how romantic the setting!

This ^
Do it on Tower of Terror just before you drop. Tie the ring to yourself with a string though. If she can catch it during the drop sequence you know it was meant to be.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Catch me if you can... :rotfl2:
