Last night sucked for Bellville high school sports teams. Volleyball team lost in State Finals...ALL the games were within the minimum 2 points needed; football team played the team they beat last year 61-7. THAT team wanted revenge and they got it. But...at least there won't be practices on THANKSGIVING DAY like last year and fellow students can watch the Brahmadoras perform in Houston's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Today was Katie's day...probably her final stage performance for awhile. She's giving her body a rest from the rigorous dance program and staying close to home for a few months to offer support to her cousins who's mother is having some health issues. The Lamar University Fall Dance Performance was awesome! Talent covered the stage and our baby girl was one of the "shining stars". She's always made us smile with her dance and today was no exception. Dang...she's GOOD! She'll be teaching Center Stage classes whose pregnant full time instructor has been ordered to "take it easy" so she'll be sharing her love of dance with those students. No photos allowed during the performance but the memories are with us!

Cracker Barrel yummy

I ended up just visiting the store part of Cracker Barrel to get Katie something for her performance. She needed to report to the recital hall at 12:15; we got to Beaumont at 11 and the wait for a table at Cracker Barrel was 45 minutes! We had to go to a cafeteria so she could get lunch before the performance. But on a different note, we ate at one a couple weeks ago after my periodontist appointment in Bryan...have you tried their chicken fried turkey? OMG that dish is SO good! It's only offered in November and December and I look as forward to it as I do to the holiday Starbuck flavors! If you haven't had a chance, make a special trip to a Cracker Barrel and give that dish a try! I'm making David bring me some next week when he has to make another trip to Bryan/College Station!

Katie will be taking a break from classes too. I'll have to PM you with the long story but since I've been so distracted this week with everything going on I've fallen behind on decorating. Hopefully I can message you this week. She's taking over the classes of one of the Center Stage teachers for December and into the spring. She just found out she's pregnant and needs to limit her exposure to possible sick kids and limit her physical activity SO she had to give up teaching. Perfect for Katie since she finishes her finals in a couple weeks but will be home 6 out of 7 days a week for classes. She has finals on ONE day the week after Thanksgiving and then the next week so she'll just be at school that one day and the night before. Lot of changes in her life plus extended family health issues. She needs to be around for her cousins on Treavor's side the next few months.

Oh wow! You had more faith in them than I did! The "wheels have come off" and we'd lost all hope; weren't even going to watch the game since we needed to work on outdoor decorating! The last time we came in for a break we were shocked to see they were ahead and after Washington scored the last TD David left so he didn't see the missed extra point. I had to rewind and show him...he didn't believe me. Did I see on Weather Channel you're predicted to get snow for Thanksgiving? We still have very mild temperatures here; a little on the warm side but beautiful. Very windy today and we're hoping for a little cooler temps by the end of the week.

After dinner I went out to continue decorating, turned around to go change from my shorts to sweat pants and a flannel shirt! It's 49 degrees this evening!
