That was our biggest fear but remaining optimistic that it's just a sprain.
9 AM appointment was VERY encouraging; she couldn't walk without crutches this morning but was able to walk out of doctors office without them. She visited a specialist in sports injuries as per her primary doctors orders. They did massaging and a series of exercises on her to relieve the pain. The doctor is leaning toward a bad sprain. She has to go through 3 days, twice a day, of the exercise series and gets re-evaluated Monday. IF there's improvement the MRI will not be necessary and she'll go through the "rest and exercise" period with hopes she can get back on the field in a couple of weeks. While I hate that she's injured, a couple of weeks without those long road trips won't "hurt my feelings"!
The games she'd miss involve two 8 hour round trips; one 9 hour round trip and another 10 hour round trip.
While we'd love to go watch the games regardless we can just as easily watch online and save the travel!
Right now, just praying her season isn't done and she doesn't end up needing surgery!
Thanks for your concern.
