A really ugly crop to finish the weekend; time is short....only 13 days until Allie leaves and only 8 days before school bells ring for Katie! Diane...you can't be far behind...

BEST view out the kitchen window in a long time ; Allie and 3 friends enjoying the pool. Her high school BFF brought 2 of her roommates back to Texas for a couple of weeks and they enjoyed the "Texas sun" for 3 1/2 HOURS this afternoon! And they TALKED the entire time! Then on to Katie's birthday dinner...including a "birthday spank" from her Daddy who said he's been waiting an entire year for that chance! Started with fried pickles then barbecued short ribs, mashed potatoes, potato salad, creamed corn, fresh green beans, salad and banana pudding for dessert. Her favorite gift was that silly YOGA MAT she BEGGED me for....cost a damn fortune!

School starts Sept 1, I have to go back on Aug 26. I hope these last few weeks are warm and SUNNY. NO MORE RAIN. It literally rained every day in July.

Sounds good especially the banana pudding.

I have the BEST banana pudding recipe and it's SO easy! Mix 1 1/2 cups water with a 14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk; add a small box instant vanilla pudding and whisk for 2 minutes. Refrigerate 5-10 minutes until it gets firm and add 12 oz. of Cool Whip. Layer pudding, vanilla wafers and sliced bananas that have been soaked in lemon juice. Repeat another layer and finish with pudding on top. We love it! In fact, I'm eating some leftovers now.

Finished the evening off with the USA/Mexico final for the GOLD CUP with a USA WIN! USA scored in the 117th minute of the double overtime to win 1-0. Really good, hard hitting soccer match with some awesome defense. Watching the rerun as I snack on the banana pudding. Katie took most of the leftovers home but I DID talk her into letting me have a little for after I got the kitchen cleaned! We ate at our new LONG table tonight and Treavor has requested "Sunday dinner" every week since we can finally all sit together.

And...David installed the LAST LITTLE SQUARE of flooring yesterday!

Oh good...you have the entire month left. Hope you get some sun too; we're getting TOO MUCH! Spent the entire evening watering the front yard....grass was looking SO thirsty! So you only have to be there 4 days before school starts...that's awesome! Sara has to start off and on this week with "training" they're required to sit through for the State. Katie has "Intensive Dance Class" tomorrow from 8-1 (they dance the entire 5 hours getting ready for Company tryouts this coming Saturday ) then the appointment for her Learner's Permit at 2. Dora's start again Tuesday provided no one else comes down with Covid!
