Here's the "famous" Shoe Tree; pretty cool tradition. It started with shoes from retiring CM's; now it's the shoes of retiring Boat Skipper's (you can only see the tree from the FW to WL boat). It signifies "See Ya Real Soon".

Fun weekend with Allie but didn't get to spend a lot of time with her. She was full of "adventures" from their 5 day trip to Arkansas and then back to Dallas. They finally got back to Brownwood about 2 AM this morning. Game started at 5 PM and we had to deal with the sitting sun...brutal and VERY hard to take pictures. Pretty physical game and more than a few arguments with the refs but a good HPU crowd made it "fun" .

She finally had enough....which led to my favorite pictures of the game!

JEFF....thought of you this weekend when we stopped at our "Texas Famous" Buc-ee's; BEST road trip stop in Texas for gas, food and interesting merchandise and parking lot sights. Huge Classic Car Show in Dallas area and participants were headed home on Sunday but not before a Buc-ee's stop....that was one fine looking classic car on the back of that trailer!

They had some beauties! If we'd have had time Saturday, we'd have stopped and spent some time there but wanted to get checked into our hotel before the soccer game. It was a HUGE show; took up the entire grounds in/around the Texas Speedway. Buc-ee's is pretty special; they're expanding now into other states across the south. Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, Florida and there's one under construction in Tennessee that will be the largest ever. There used to be people that made a special trip from Louisiana just to go to Buc-ee's. Took this picture inside the store Sunday....it's a little blurred...got bumped by a passerby as I took the picture. This is about 1/3 of the store but it gives you an idea of the size.

I had to research it when we got home from the June trip. We first saw it on our 2019 trip but it was already past sundown when David & I left Ft. Wilderness for the MK so I didn't get a good picture so I had my camera ready this time!
