Where In The World #20

It's been an interesting past few days to be sure. Yesterday I received an e-mail that our hotel reservation had been CANCELED (at no penalty to us, gee, thanks) because the hotel would not be open in time. I called and the front desk supervisor said "Yes, we wanted to let people know as soon as possible so they could make other arrangesments." You call 9 days SOON? Ugh. After a mini freak-out, it actually turned out for the better because I was able to get a TA rate at the Fairfield Inn right across the street, which was our first choice anyway. But still.

I'm just in a slump. Through this holiday season, I just haven't been feeling it. Work is driving me crazy, and my manager has decided to start micromanaging. I am SO ready to get out of here.

OMG......they cancelled 9 days before your departure! I'd have had a MAJOR freak-out! Those things usually turn out better but it's just such a hassle to deal with it when all you want to do is GO. It's been a hard holiday season for us too with the deaths of 2 acquaintances; the elderly gentleman was expected but DH's co-/worker/our friend was told by her children at THANKSGIVING that she didn't look well and maybe she should see a doctor. A month later, she died. That was hard on all of us. Add to that the Dallas area tornados SO very close to my nieces house and the Christmas week "heat wave"...it's been a huge "slump" here too. Sounds like you just need time away from your job and boss and that's soooo close! :dance3: You're countdown is at a week...it will go fast! :tink:

Sounds like a great plan!!!!

This is for poor Diane who I assume is sitting at work, not being able to check WITW :sad2:

Yup that's my boss.:thumbsup2

I need lots of pixiedust: I went on a job interview today. It went really well. I got a message yesterday to come in today. I applied for the position back in October. I guess they aren't in any hurry. :sad2: The only down side is it's only 16 hours a week.

Yes, this is from a shop window in HS.

Yay! Disneyland! Have you been there before? You are smart to go now because they are going to totally tear it up this year to put in Starwars Land. o_O Be sure to see the Aladdin Show if it's still there. It's such a good show and they are getting rid of it and going to do Frozen instead. :rolleyes1

Hollywood or Sunset?

This is from a park shop window. I'm not sure what DS stands for but it's not from a Christmas Store.

I think it's Disney Springs, since DTD is no longer "correct."

Is it from Hollywood Studios?

Yes, this is from a shop window in HS.

Annie is correct...DS is Disney Springs, formally DTD...it was "officially" renamed sometime in the fall. :goodvibes Is this from one of the windows on Hollywood Blvd.? :tink:

Glad you were able to get another room. Hoping for nice weather in Boston for you.

MK or Epcot?

One funeral service down; one to go on Saturday. :sad2: Beautiful service today though and I can only hope MY grandkids speak as highly of me after I'm "gone" as Jimmie's did of him. He never missed a sporting event where they participated in and those 5 "kids", now adults with kids of their own, cherished him for his dedication to THEIR lives. Very heartwarming service. :goodvibes

Thanks:goodvibes It lasted an hour and after meeting with the hiring manager I got to meet with a few of the nurses in the department. The position is an Administrative Assistant in a hospital in their Heart Wellness/Cardiac Program.

Oh! Good luck! I hope you get the job! How many hours do you work now? Could the new job turn into more hours in the future?

Thanks:goodvibes I work 29 hours now. Just one hour shy of BENEFITS >:( She mentioned something about the possibility of more hours in the future but she couldn't definitely say for sure at this time. DH wasn't too happy about going backwards but at this point I would rather be happy and work less hours. But if I get in, there is always other departments to maybe get a full time position or another part time one. Getting in is the hard part.
