Now that we are purchasing APs in order to get our room discount, I need to know where to activate them. We were hoping to make a quick stop to activate them at DTD on our drive in to the resort. Where in DTD is Guest Relations? Is it near the World of Disney?

I had planned to do the same thing last week, but decided to wait it out and see. When I checked in around midnight, there weren't many people around, and they still didn't even ask to see my AP. I'm pretty sure they give you a day or so, to get it activated. Although I'm very partial to DTD and recommend shopping there, I wouldn't waste my time going just to activate a pass. JMHO. :D

It is across the walk-way from the big pin station near the rest room.

If you are looking at the toy store it is on the right side of it. It is basically down the alley and across from the rest rooms. If you are walking in from the parking lot closest to the Once upon a Toy store you will see it as you enter DTD.

I thought even with AP voucher you can get room discount. AFAIK, as long as you have an activated AP at the time you're checking out, you'll still get the room discount.

I activated mine in the West Side. We parked near DisneyQuest and it was a short walk from there to the guest relations/information booth.

If you got in late and all the other parks had closed, Downtown Disney would be a handy place to buy or activate an annual pass so you can check into the resort with your AP rate reservation. I'm not absolutely sure you have until check out or even the next morning to produce an AP, some folks have reported difficulties, and it may even depend on the mood of the resort check in clerk. Then, too, if you recite the question "how long does it take to get to DTD and back" the clerk might change his mind and check you in rather than see the rest of your family waiting in the lobby for the next hour for you to get back.
