We have 3 boys as will be 8,6,2 at next trip next Thanksgiving. Where have you stayed with 3 and been okay with space.

AOA family suite or POR - Alligator Bayou. Both sleep at least 5.

We are a family of 5 with kids that are 8,6 and 4 so we are a fairly good match to your family. We have stayed at the Polynesian, the Villas at Animal Kingdom Lodge and Bay Lake Tower, all of which have worked well for us.

Not knowing what your budget is for the room portion of the trip here would be my general thoughts, but everyone will have a different opinion.

• Family suites at the values can be a good option but pricing at times seems high for the overall amenities in my opinion. I have stayed at a value with my son and while nice it just was not a match for us.
• Port Orleans has some rooms that sleep 5 (I am not sure on the exact details of which rooms). This is my sisters favorite resort and I have been there often, but the rooms just seem too small for 5.
• The deluxe resorts almost all sleep 5 (some rooms at Wilderness lodge do not) and this is a workable option but can get VERY pricey, for similar money you can look at a DVC resort and get quite a bit more space
• The DVC Resorts are a great option for large groups and can be had by renting points (lower cost but less flexibility) or by booking direct from Disney (high cost but good flexibility)

I would be more than happy to answer any specific questions on my comments but it is at least a start for you.

We have 4 children and have stayed at BLT, The Poly, the CR, and 2 connecting value rooms. I think that the POR room that sleeps 5 would be a bit crowded.
They also have the All Star Music suites and the AOA suites as well as the cabins.
We stayed off property last October at Bonnet Creek (which is right beside the Caribbean Beach resort). As our kids have gotten older and we need more space (but don't want to fork out the WDW resort prices) we have found a great resort with Bonnet Creek. Lots of space for a fraction of the cost. Especially since we have added a SIL to our family. We are staying at BC again in June for 2 weeks

I don't have 3 children but I've stayed with multiple family members plus children and we loved the Treehouse Villas! We've also stayed at the villas at OKW

Since one is under 3, you can technically stay in a standard value room with two doubles and a pack 'n' play. It will not be very spacious, but it is doable. I don't know if comfort outweighs cost for you, but if you're looking to save money you can still stay value without doing a suite. We're doing three adults and a 2 year old in a Pop room in February and we'll be fine with it because we're not in the room much anyway.

We really do like POR in the rooms with a pull out trundle. Not only is it a great resort but you get beignets too! Before DVC it was our favorite place to stay because it is big, has full grown trees and a good bus system.

Now for us, any DVC resort that is open works but we do like Beach club and old key west. OKW is the largest and even in a studio you would be ok.

Back when we only had three kids (we have five now) we stayed in the cabins at Fort Wilderness and loved it. Lots of space and I liked not having to worry about the noise level of our three little boys since we weren't sharing walls with anyone. Plus it was great having a kitchen because sometimes you just don't feel like dragging the exhausted little one out into public to get something to eat.

You CAN stay anywhere because the youngest is two, but what you asked was what is comfortable. I personally found POR and the values to be exactly the same, so it's not really an upgrade as far as the size of the room. With younger kids I would just stick to a value, but if you need more room you really need to upgrade to a family suite at the values, a cabin, two rooms, or a deluxe (and I have no idea if the deluxes are much more room or not).

We stayed at POR AB room in November with our 13, 9, and 7 year old, and we were perfectly fine. I love how some people think that they need all this space to sleep for a week in a hotel room. Then again, I'd bet that the same people also have a bedroom for each kid, a family room, rec room, toyroom, and 5 acres of land, too, so I guess it is all relative. We are perfectly fine in our 3 bed, 1 1/2 bath 1400 sq foot house in the suburbs of Chicago, so I guess a 300 sq foot hotel room for a week doesn't bother us.

Since you have small children and I don't know how they do falling asleep to the TV or you and DH talking, etc, I would consider that as a factor in what room you choose. My kids are fine with all of that, and they were so tired from a day in the park, so no problems there!

I totally agree, I loved POR but having a separate room for naps was so perfect!!

We have stayed in all star music family suites 2 times, and loved it with our 3. We stayed at POR once as well, and last trip we stayed in 2 rooms at all star sports. we loved the feel and the pool at POR. But for us staying in 1 room at this point (kids are 12,10 and 6) would have been less than ideal. Having a second bathroom was more than worth it for us. We booked through Travelocity for our October 2013 trip, and got 2 rooms (connecting) at all star sports for $90 each a night so less than 1 room at POR per night. It worked very well for us. Everyone had plenty of room to sleep, like I said 2 bathrooms are wonderful for bedtime showers and baths, as well as getting ready in the morning. Also having the extra space for storing your bags, and stuff accumulated during the trip is wonderful.

The cabins at Fort Wilderness are awesome! There's a bedroom with bunk beds and a double, then a Murphy double in the living room.
