Where everybody knows Bill’s Name *New 4/6 A picture with a DISer & pimping my PTR**

Oh Tracy...how funny that you had to wait for the Fire Dept. Well, like others have said...better safe than sorry! I have seen some people trying to "help" others and probably really shouldn't. :sad2:

Too bad you couldn't be stuck on Pirates...right in front of the robot Johnny Depp! :rotfl2:

Looking forward to hearing about Teppan Edo! :thumbsup2 And Max? :confused3

Okay,
I had to read "your" TR to find out that
WE COULD HAVE MET!!!

I was slightly entertained watching this guy.
This float broke down in front of us.
He tried 3 times to get it going,
and finally he just hooked it up and pulled it.

We got back to the MK, from Trails End Buffet around 1:45 - 2:00 p.m.
when you guys got to the MK

We were near the Country Bear Jamboree after the parade
and we were in the Hub watching Wishes, we were over by the Plaza
Resturant.

So, so close to meeting you guys.

That is crazy that we were so close to each other all afternoon and evening.

Don't feel bad about the Fire Dept. helping you out.
They are owned by Disney.
Our tour guide told us, they love being called for "help".

They were really sweet.

It must have seemed like overkill for the firefighters (EMTs?) to be called, but I suppose its "better safe than sorry." They don't want a guest or a CM getting hurt and you know from experience that not everyone knows the proper way to lift a person or to manipulate a w/c!

Do you know that we have never had the opportunity to see Jamminators?!! I can't believe it! It was on my plan last time and everything!

The street performers are so much fun...

BTW, how long was that Imagination song stuck in your heads?! :rotfl2:

Kathy

I understand why they have the policy, it was funny because they just had to be there to watch Barbie turn the ride vehicle and let the ramp out, no real evacuation at all.

Oh I have another story about street performers on our last day, a great story!!

That song was stuck in my head for days, then started again after I wrote that installment :rotfl: .

OMG...I had no idea that the FD had to be called to evacuate wheelchairs! Sounds like you guys had the total VIP treatment! ;)

Everyone was so nice.

We could see that Bill could just roll off, but they weren't allowed to move anything until RCFD came. :rotfl2: about Max.

Even with the "comical" evacuation, it sounds like this trip is going much better than the last.....I love it!!!
I can't wait to hear about Teppan Edo...I'm thinking about eating there next visit!

Your posts always make me laugh! I can't believe they had to call RCFD to get Bill off of Imagination.

Hi Tracy. I'm late to the party but didn't miss it completely!!!

We were there last week and got stuck (again) on It's A Small World. I was thinking what could be worse than that and here I read you guys are stuck on Imagination and I think you win. :rotfl:

Hello fellow Hoosier!! Bill is one too! This trip was wonderful, we really had fun. The Teppan Edo update will be later today or tomorrow.

Hello!! I actually asked Barbie if she was kidding when she said they had to call RCFD, I was like, "um open the door and let out the ramp" :rotfl: .

Pakey :grouphug: so great to "see" you!! Oh I don't know which ride would be worse to be stuck on :lmao: . I will have to ask Bill what he thinks.

Hi Tracy! Just checking in and am all caught up. DH LOVES the Jamminators and we have to stop and watch them every time we are in EPCOT. I have a great video of DS getting down with them from our June 2008 trip.

We never were able to get an ADR for Liberty Tree and I am sad that we will never experience a character meal there.

Hey Tracy! I'm finally all caught up.:) Loving your report as usual. Bill has made me want to eat at The Land. His food looked yummy. And the pictures of the sky and the Christmas castle. Aw, heaven.:cloud9: What an awesome picture of the back of the castle too. You're getting good at Disney photography! I'm sorry you got stuck with Figment, but sounds like you made the most of it. I'm sure some people would have really given them a hard time about making them wait. We also got stuck on a ride this past December. Quite the experience!:upsidedow I look forward to reading more. I'm looking at your tickers trying to figure out if we go this year if we can overlap with you guys and meet. Someday..:flower3:

Hi Tracy!!!! it has been a little while since i have been one and finished up your last TR. I am so happy you started another one! I am jealous you have 2 trip coming up at the end of the year. DH and I will be talking this year off from Disney...I am really sad about it but I guess we should travel Europe a little. I am helping my sister's friend plan her trip in April. It is tons of fun b/c she has two little girls that are 4 and 2 and will be their first trip.

Anways I hope you are doing well and look forward to your next update!

Hi, Tracy, I just found your new report! This trip is going so much smoother and I'm so glad you all got a "do over" soon to recapture the magic. :goodvibes

We are planning on going back in December, so I'm enjoying seeing your pictures of the Christmas decorations. And I knew I had seen that tractor pulling the float somewhere else--OhMari's TR!! Too funny! Thought I was having a little deja vu there for a minute.

Hello!! The Jamminators are great!! So sorry you didn't get to do LTT, I am hoping someday they will see that was a error to stop that character meal.

Hi Monica!! It is fun to get stuck on rides :rotfl: . OH that would be fantastic to get to meet you. You do have to remember we are over 8 months away from the October trip and Bill changes his mind all the time :lmao: about when we are going to go. The December one is more set in stone.

HELLO :wave2: !! Disney tickers are what keeps me going and happy. Sounds like you are having a great time planning for your sister's friend, that is great!

Hi :flower3: !! We were so happy to have this trip after the October one, it was so much different!

When in December are you going? Right now our dates are Dec. 13th - 20th, but you never know with Bill :rotfl2:. I can't believe how close to OhMari all afternoon and evening that day. So close yet so far away.

No way! I have us booked the 15th-22nd, but we may not actually go till the 17th, just depends on how strict 3rd grade is. But we'll definitely be there! How much can they actually do the last two days of school? Dis meet, dis meet!!

That is great!! We would definately be up for that. Your location says East Tennessee, Bill and I spent Christmas in Pigeon Forge and loved it!

Mmmm - the food at Sunshine Seasons looks yummy! We love that place. :thumbsup2

Too funny about the FD having to be called. :rotfl:

Hi Tracy just catching up, my laptop has died and I'm having serious DIS withdrawel :rotfl:

Love how much character interaction Bill gets, maybe they remember him from previous visits too :lmao:

How funny you had to get the fire department to rescue you, not everyone can say that :thumbsup2

Hi Jo!! Oh no about the laptop, I hope you can get it fixed or get a new one, I know a laptop had to be helpful with the Mom's Panel.

I am wondering sometimes if the characters remember Bill too, they seem to just gravatate to him no matter where we are.

I wish I would have taken some pictures of our adventures with the RCFD, I can't believe I didn't :sad2:.

Thurs. Nov. 13th, 2008 cont.

We finally made it to Soarin’, we really enjoy this ride, but they either need to thoroughly clean the screen or replace it, it was filthy, especially in the upper left side. It was not up to Disney standards at all :sad2: !!

We had never been to Club Cool, so we went there. They have “Flavors from Around the World”:

WDW11-08227.jpg

I liked the watermelon one and another one, but I can’t remember the name. Bill seemed to like some of them too. Now here is where having a big mouth works against you. I had made the mistake of talking about Beverly before, even showing him pictures of my online friends relatives/friends drinking it, so there was no way he was going to try it. Nothing I could do or say could get him to try on taste of it. So I tried it, there are no pictures, but if you look at Scott’s picture from his trip report it will give you an idea of the face I made.

We left there and saw a hat display, since he didn’t try Beverly he caved in when I asked him to try on hats:

We went to the First Aid station; they have 3 different areas at this location:

Semi private areas with low beds:

After we left First Aid we started to go left towards Mexico to walk around to our destination of Japan for dinner. Before we even got to turn we ran into “Skipper Tim” from the Jungle Cruise, he remembered us from October and introduced his lovely wife, and gorgeous baby. We talked for a couple minutes, it was so nice of him to talk to us. So many CM’s seemed to remember us from the trip 3 weeks before it made us feel special.

We said our goodbyes and made our way toward Japan taking some pictures on the way:

I wasn’t sure where the elevator was and I also wanted to see the pick a pearl station so we headed inside a shop. I saw a woman get an 8½ mm pearl, it was beautiful. We found the elevator and made our way up. It wasn’t that long until the hostess asked us to follow her inside. We had a family from the New Jersey area (I think) sit with us, the rest of their party was at the table next to ours.

Wada was our chef for the evening:

We both ordered the steak and chicken. Wada talked and cooked, we got vegetables and noodles first:

WDW11-08261.jpg

He saw me cut up Bill’s food. (I do this because Bill's left hand is the only one that is functional and it is somewhat limited. I also do this because of the Cerebral Palsy, it effects his swallowing capabilities sometimes.) When it came time for the steak and the chicken, he cut Bill’s up for him. He said I was on vacation and it was up to him to take care of it. That was so nice, I was very touched.

For dessert Bill got the Chocolate Ginger Cake and I had the Fruit Tart:

WDW11-08262.jpg

We both loved the food and will be going back. When we left we came outside and saw the most amazing full moon. I wish I had a camera that could have taken a picture of how fantastic it looked over the World Showcase, it was mesmerizing. This is the picture I ended up with:

WDW11-08265.jpg

We walked around for a bit and then started making our way to the wheelchair accessible location for Illuminations. We picked up a funnel cake on the way, we hadn’t had one there before and it was on our “to do” list. The college program CM at the wheelchair area was great. He was very personable and really seemed to be enjoying his job.

He let a couple in that had a service dog with them. The man was in a manual wheelchair, they owned DVC. They were very nice, we chit chatted about going around Disney in a wheelchair, the dog Max does many things including pulling the gentleman around Disney World when he gets tired. Max was a handsome black lab. He was very friendly, came right up to Bill and I, he just put his huge head in my lap. He weighed about 80lbs. When he laid down he put his head on Bill’s feet. I can not believe I didn’t take pictures of this magnificent creature. Other people started showing up and he made the rounds meeting people. Then he came back by us, he seemed to go to sleep, that is until Bill started coughing, his head jerked up completely alert and just stared at Bill with compassionate eyes making sure he was ok. It was something to see.

The fireworks didn’t bother him one bit and after they were over he climbed up on the bench between the lady and I. We thought he was going to cuddle up with her, but no he laid his head my lap like he had known me forever. It made me miss Ace  , but he was so sweet and he just let me love on him. It was time for them to go and we said our goodbyes.

We didn’t start walking out until about 9:50pm. We love staying back and letting the crowds filter out. That way it feels like we are almost alone in the World Showcase when we are leaving. I really hate to leave there when it feels like it is just us. The beauty of the entire night was magical, the full moon, the music, the feeling like it was our own peace of Heaven, I just love that feeling.

Then we walked up to the Pop bus stop. The first thing I always do is take a count of how many wheelchair/ECV’s there are. That way I know how long a wait there will be. There were 5 people on wheels in front of us, no big deal, we have all night. Many people wait a long time for a bus, we like to lag behind so the rush of the leaving crowds don’t effect us as badly. A bus pulled up, loaded 2 of the WC’s and another bus pulled up beside it and loaded more people. That took care of many guests very quickly. They then pulled away and another bus pulled up took more guests and 2 more wheelchair/ECV’s. Then another bus pulled up behind it and took us and another wheelchair user that had wheeled up. Our bus CM, Tommy was very professional, polite, and just a great guy. By the time we loaded, there was no one else in the queue, so us and the other couple had the bus to ourselves. We were in the room by 10:45pm.

Next installment…old favorites and wandering around

Wonderful installment! Sounds like an absolutely magical evening pixiedust:

Man, they really could use something on the walls, couldn't they? I mean, everything else at WDW is themed....

That was sweet of him!

Ed & I loved Teppan Edo when we went without the kids; I would love to do it again, but I'm nervous that Billy might accidentally touch the hot table.

Those dogs are so sensitive, more so than lots of two-legged creatures!

Ahhhhh....Long, contented sigh!!!!! :cloud9:

Tracy, what a wonderful evening. I can picture that full moon over the water right now and it sounds like bliss. :goodvibes That dog sounds amazing - so sweet and sensitive!

Thanks for the amazing update and beautiful descriptions. I wish I were there right now! ::yes::
