Where does your DIS time come from?

I look at some of the post counts around here and have to wonder....how on earth do y'all find so much time to post?

I've been on the DIS since day 1 (literally...I was one of the first people to post when Pete started the board. I lost my original date/count and had to start over at one point.) And I sometimes feel guilty for the amount of time I spend here!

So what activity is losing out because you're DISing? I'm not trying to induce guilt in any of the rest of you....I'm just curious!

Barb, I was wondering the same thing yesterday.
I've actually been around since 98 or 99---I can't remember when this started but I was around in the beginning. My sign on then was siouxi but somewhere along the line I had some problem and had to create another sign-on.
Look at my measly posts. Guess I'm really just a lurker.

Well I for one can say that I DIS a lot when I'm on break from school. Mainly because I don't want to watch TV or I'm IM'ing with friends and it's convenient.

When I'm in school, I have very little time to do anything except be in class and study! So don't worry, I go back on Wed for 5 more weeks of school! :D

The majority of my posts came from a few years ago when I literally LIVED on this board. I was here all the time and answered just about every thread. There was also this counting game one time......and then one time Princess Michelle and I had a post count race.

Now times have changed and I post maybe 10 times per week. Not nearly as much as I used to.

hhhmmm....
what would or should I be doing instead of DISing??

washing floors :o
reading
cleaning out closets :o
watching DH watch TV ;)
cleaning out basement :o
gardening/yard work:daisy:
housecleaning :o
organizing 18 years worth of photos into albums:scared1:

oh, the list goes on and on ... now I feel guilty ;) LOL

Well I think for not being here a year yet that I have a lot of post.
Of course I am a stay at home wife with no children so I have all the time I want. I do my house work early and than have the rest of the day to myself.

Well, because my AP classes are now umm a joke since the exams are over, I have a lot less homework. So I spend a lot of time online IMing my friends, and sending emails, so this is pretty convinient.
But sure, there are things I should be doing. I should be organizing 8 years of pictures I've taken (thankfully they've gotten progressively better) since I only have a year left before college. My room looks like a tornado hit it-but guess what I'm not doing. I think the bathroom needs cleaning too. But when something really needs to be done, I do that instead of DIS. I just would rather DIS than do the boring stuff that isn't urgent.

Well mostly I'm just a lurker. But since I'm thinking about doing a quick budget trip in August with just the kids, I've been on here more. What's suffering right now is my housework.

Hi Barb. I've been around for quite some time too when there was only 1 board. Ohhhhhhhh I used to get in trouble for being "off topic". :)

I use the community board as my home page and check it every day, I lurk mostly because I don't have much time to post.

When I started I was not working but my time is so limited now that I usually check in the morning 6 am and then at night for a bit.

denise

P.S. I too lost my count many times, it means nothing to me now, I just enjoy the boards when I have a chance.

Sometimes I post when I'm at work  Everyone knows that I love Disney so they don't mind... as long as all of my work is done :)

i moved here a few months back when we had to cancel this yers trip, it was a hard blow to my recovery, i am recovering from a car wreck and i dont do much,, drs wont release me to work, cant do much of the house work, cant focus on tv for more than thirty min or so, cant keep up in chat rooms.. s ooo here i am..lol.. i bounce in and out all day when i take breaks from tv, housework, napping, etc.. those hting s disabled folks get to do:)

If you could see the current state of the housework situation in my house, you would understand:scared1: ! And I don't exercise enough cause I'm "Dis-ing" and I don't scrapbook enough cause I'm "Dis-ing"!.................:p P

I post at both work and home. At my job I have days where I am really busy and days when I have about 2 hours of work but still have to be there until 5 pm so I have to do something to pass the time!

I'll post at work when I have data and reports processing in the background. Then when the kids are in bed and DH is gaming on his pc, I'll do some DISing too.

I'm on here a lot, but I wouldn't say it's taking time away from anything else. I just multi-task so I can check back often, hurry faster to finish housework and other work, and watch no TV. I'm still remembering to feed my child and walk the dog... ;)

I've been around for over 5.5 years now... I think 6 in Sept if I remember correctly... I didn't actually get a lot of my posts until after I finished college. I hardly watch any TV at all and I stop in here during my lunch break at work... in the evening I pop on and due to cable modem I do it here and there. Since I have no kids and don't really enjoy TV, this is it for me... that and I type fast :p

I don't watch any TV...LITERALLY! I've been in my new home almost 2 months, and I still haven't called the cable company so no TV. :teeth: That's fine with me. I'm also not working right now, so there's some time.

I scan the topics during down times at work and post while waiting on time to go back to work. I would probably be called a Lurker more than a poster.
