Where do you store your shoes?

Usually at the back door/mud room. That's where I come and go from the house so it works out well there.

To the pp re: closets, we did have one when I was younger and in an apartment when older. Here in N. CA it's mostly to hang your hoodie, umbrella and vacuum cleaner in. Growing up, quite a few friends including our first house had the closet in the beginning of the hallway. Also jackets, vacuum cleaner. Shoes have always been bedroom. Right now, most of my shoes are in the closet and the three I wear most, tennis, flip flops and slippers are next to my bed.

In a closet where they belong ,so unsightly and dirty to see shoes piled up by the door.

one pair on the hall tree at the entrance in case i need to go out the front door (rarely used)
one pair on the deck to wear.......on the deck/in back of property
multiple pairs in garage (snow, rain, comfy day to day stuff)
nicer stuff, seasonal (yeah i have some holiday themed vans) in walk in closet

Everywhere. By the back door, in my closet, on my bedroom floor, kicked off under the coffee table...

This. So aggravated at myself for doing this tho. I do have several pair that I don't wear often in an over the door shoe holder thingy. I wear mostly flip flops, sandals & a couple pair of sneakers & wear different ones just about every day so they never get put up.
