Where do you set up camp at BB/TL?

Our next visit to a water park will be our first where we won't really be using the kiddie areas, which is where we camp out when we have gone. Where do you like to camp out when you go?

BB we have only gone by Ski Patrol area, worked for kids and great location for sky lift, bathroom, family raft ride exit...........

BUT TL we have a great spot. If you are looking at a map.....look at the top of the wave pool where the water pumps out....go to the right just before you hit the lazy river, you see a pink/red pompom thing. Well right there is a table with a covered pavillion and quite a few chairs that is great. You are not hooked to any other tables etc, you are backed by the lazy river, in front of you is some landscape and a path which is not used often - it goes in the tunnel under the wave machines. Everytime someone walks by they would say something about our great spot, even the CMs.

You are so close to everything and away from the chaos of kiddie city. We get there when it opens, go straight to our spot to put out our stuff, then head to Shark Reef to do it several times before it gets crowded and murky.

We plan on camping out for the day at BB and TL when we go in May/June. Need an ideal location for both. We don't have very small children anymore (ages 13, 9, and 8) and would like somewhere that is central to the main pool area probably - any suggestions, pleeeeaaase!

Our family will not really be setting up camp anymore....just putting "towels only" on some chairs & coming back to sit when we need a break. Anything else we need we will keep in those little plastic boxes around our necks.

Long story...but last month at BB someone stole DS's goggles, his new Star Wars toy, & a water camera from our bag that we had left on a chair. Another family had their entire backpack stolen.

The manager there was great. We didn't even ask him to but he gave us a new water camera & the front desk at POP (where we were staying) had an identical Star Wars toy sent over from MGM, along with an autographed pic. of Mickey. So nice!!

But be careful...don't leave anything on a chair unattended that you may want to see again.

I've got a solution for that---it's called tie-straps! I haven't used them at the water parks, but I have other places. I will be strapping my pool bag to my chair, and locking the zipper with with one of the straps. Cutters will be in my water-proof case around my neck!

Great idea!!! I think I'll carry those with us during our May trip. You never know when they might come in handy.

Are you talking about those plastic things where the pointy end goes thru the hole & you push it thru until it's tightly closed? (I hope that made sense).

Yes, the ones that lock once you pull the end through. Be sure you have something to cut them with, or you'll have a problem!

It's sad that people feel the need to steal. The tie straps sound like a good idea, especially for those things that you want to bring but aren't technically valuables. I recommend the lockers for valuables. Why take a chance? We are spending a long memorial day weekend at WDW mainly for the waterparks.

As a single mom, I learned this trick a long time ago. If you make acquaintances with another family group nearby it's a nice way to look out for eachothers' things.
