Where do you get your digital pics printed?

I just got a digital camera for my birthday--Kodak DX6490--and I love it so far, but I haven't had any pics printed yet. It came with the easy share software, and they automatically print from Ofoto.com from there. Is that a good place? A friend of mine took hers to Walmart and had them printed the week before last, and they were horrible--grainy, and just nasty looking. I don't want anything like that. WM is the only major store around here, we have a KMart, but they don't print digital pics. My camera is 4 megapixels, if that makes a difference.

Thanks for any thoughts!

Steph

I don't have a whole lot of experience with digital. But from what I was told you can basically get them develpoed anywhere, but the photo quality really depends on the type of camera their taken from not the processing. Your camera is 4mp I would think the pictures will come out wonderful any where you go. But somewhere I heard even the really expensive digi's may not process as crisp and clear as a film camera. Someone else may have better info. on this topic.

THIS IS FROM DISNEYFREAKJACKIE, forgot to logoff of my DD's sign on!!

We have the same camera and LOVE IT!! I get the pics developed at CVS, they come out great, but take a long time (especially when you have MANY to print)!! The regular price is .29 cents per pic, they often have specials and coupons!! :teeth:

I use www.shutterfly.com.

Just upload pics, edit/enhance and order. The best thing is you order them from home and they are delivered to your door just
3-4 days later. I love their photo gifts too. The print quaility is great and you can share them via email with family and friends for free.

We originally started printing at Shutterfly, but the color just seemed "off."

We've been using Ofoto for almost two years now and we've never had a problem. They often send deals like 20% off your entire order if you spend $10, and they have very fast shipping.

Thanks to all!

We have a Sams, and we go there, but it's an hour away right now; after we move, it will only be a few minutes, so that will work out great! There is a CVS here in our town also, I hadn't thought about taking them there. I think I will try several places, online and local, and see what looks the best!

Thanks again!

I get mine done at Walmart or Sams when I'm near one. Unfortunately our Sams is 30 mins away....Walmart is 5.;)

I've used Shutterfly, Ofoto, Walgreens and Costco. I prefer the prints from Walgreens and Costco because I can just take my memory in and print directly from that rather than uploading. I shoot at 5megapixels and it just takes forever to upload each photo to the web so I often end up resizing etc. I just find it less time consuming to take it to a local place. I think both walgreens and costco are 0.29

I do them at Walmart too.....24 cents a pic. I've tried Costco, Walgreens, and Longs Drugs. Each one allows you to print from the memory card. I like the paper that the Walmart prints on. I tried more then one Walmart and will only go to a certain one. I have never had any problems with them. I also have a Kodak 4 megapixel and it seemed to take a long time to upload to Ofoto. One of my friends likes snapfish for hers.

I second CVS
I love the Kodak picture maker they have and if you go to their web site they have a coupon for 10 free digital prints.
http://www.cvs.com/CVSApp/cvs/gateway/promotion?pid=5665
Plus this week they are running a deal with your little card they scan 5 free prints. So...you print out 15 prints for free!

Also with that care card you sometimes get added discounts.

I have found the most cost effective for the number of digital pictures I print is to have a really good PhotoSmart printer and buy the good paper when I can get it on sale.

I frequent Walmart but like someone else said only certain ones. I also love Sams but like Wendy Walmart is closer. I have yet to try CVS or walgreens I Might do a test pic one of these yrs.

We use our local Walgreens. The quality s excellent (they take great care of their equipment). The price is .29 or .20 if you print 50 or more (usually not a problem as I am printing extras for family). 20 cents a print is great!

Epson PictureMate....comes out to $.29 per print and the prints are as nice or better than what I used to have printed at Ritz Camera.

Very easy to use...I love mine!

Snapfish gets my vote. I had the same pictures printed at Sam's, Snapfish, and Ofoto, and Snapfish quality won hands down. Plus, you can "prepay" and the cost per print comes down significantly.

An additional bonus is Snapfish will preserve the aspect ratio of digital prints whereas other services won't.

As far as your megapixels--4 mp is plenty for crisp 4x6 prints. You can go up to 8x10 and still have very nice quality. Have fun!
