Where do you find unusual characters

Hi all,

We are headed to Disney in a few short days and my DS (age 7) has been talking non-stop about our trip. Last night he hit me with a new question...Mom, where do I find all the OTHER characters? He's looking for anyone besides those we routinely see (Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Chip, Dale, Goofy, Pluto, Pooh, Tigger, Eyeore, etc).

Any ideas where to find Daisy, Max, and some of the other characters?

Thanks! :earsgirl:

Max tends to be out at MK frequently. In Town Sqaure (by the flag pole) you can usually find the Jungle Book Characters, Max, Pinochio, Characters from Robin Hood...some of the more obscure characters. They usually are out when the park opens through th start of day parade. You can also find some pretty odd characters by the train station at Toon Town, the Penguins from Mary Poppins, the Rabbit from Winnie the Pooh, they tend to be pretty random over there. (Not sure what schedule they follow, but you can ask a CM to call the Character Hotline and ask if the characters will be out by the train station in toon town and they will be able to get a schedule for you).

Also if you are looking for a specific character the CM's can call for you and find out if and when they will be out. The CM number will offer them information for all the parks so you might be at MK asking about a specifc character and the answer will be that they will be out but over at MGM at a certain time. Just ask a CM to help if you need it :)

Mulan and her dragon (don't know his name) can be found in China.

Aladin and the Genie can be found in Moraco

Belle , the Beast and Sleeping Beauty can be found in the garden in France

Mary Poppins , Pooh, Tigger and Rabbit are in the toy shoppe in the UK

The Mice from Cinderella can be found outside of AK

Terk from Tarzan can be found outside of AK

Lilo and Stich can be found in AK by the DVC stand

Ber Rabbit and Ber Bear can be found outside of AK

King Louie and Baloo can be found around the fire station and Barber Shoppe at MK

Woody and Jesse can be found in Frointier Land

If I think of anymore I'll post them

Here's a list of all the character meet-and-greet locations and who appears there. It's pretty well updated, except for that it still lists the Characters on Holiday Bus at EPCOT which is no longer around.

Character Greeting Guide

Hope that helps. :earsboy:

Snow White and all seven (!) dwarves at Germany at Epcot
Peter Pan and Captain Hook at United Kingdom in Epcot
Daisy Duck at town square in MK
Roger Rabbit, Donald Duck, under the big hat at MGM
Buzz Lightyear at Al's Toy Barn at MGM
Miss Piggy, and Kermit at muppets store next to Mama Melrose's in MGM
Darkwing Duck on Main Street near the castle
Goofy and Max near the castle

We saw Daisy at EPCOT's character greeting in the Character Connection. It was not crowded at all. The characters really spent time with the kids (and adults). We saw Peter Pan and Wendy across from PoC. Launchpad McQuack was in Toon Town in front of Mickey's house.

Thanks for the tips everyone. I'll keep checking back for posts. Meeko...thanks for the list!!!!

Keep your eyes open and check out various nooks and crannies - it seems that if there is an unused space, they often put minor characters in there. :-)

We've seen Rafiki a couple of times out at the Conservation Station - the one you have to take a ride out to.

Flik was at AK on one of the trails

Several other Bug's Life Bugs were at Epcot one day

Jessie was right ouside the Buzz and Woody signing area

Suzy and Perla were in with Cinderella in that room she sits in

Daisy Duckasaurus (Daisy dressed up in dino-duck gear) was near Primeval Whirl at AK

We got the Queen of Hearts and Prince John at one of the signing area where I usually see 'bigger' characters - I think it was the one under a canopy on the water - you kind of have to walk behind some bushes to get to it

Tweedledee and Tweedledum over by the merry-go-round

Dec. 5th I saw Jane from Tarzan out in the Outpost area of Epcot- I thought that was a pretty unusual character that I hadn't seen. It was kind of mid-afternoon type time.

We have found Jiminy Cricket behind the Christmas store in Liberty Square a few times - hidden in back.

Also - the professor from Swiss Family Robinson is in front of the treehouse sometimes.

Quite a few years ago we ran into Sly Fox over by American Adventure I think, or UK, we were the first ones walking around the lagoon that morning and he played with our son for about 10 min. We have a darling video of Fox trying to wrap his cloke around him and make off with him.

Hope this helps!
Thanks!!! :cloud9: We got some of the more obscure characters on our site! And we try to indicate if they are just too rare to bother trying to find! :teeth:

I been having the same problem as the OP - everything is turning into a Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Chip, Dale, or Pooh character meet and greet. It became a real joke on my last two trips! :( I find that Town Square at Magic Kingdom (right where you enter) has become mainly a meet for popular common characters, but recently we have seen Baloo, King Louie, Gepetto, Pinocchio, Cruella, and Terk there. There used to be more variety, but not anymore.

CDSTapisRouge is right on - The ToonTown Train Station is a GREAT place to find those random characters! But this is very hit-or-miss whether they use the spot! On my last trip Nov 27-Dec 4th, I saw this spot used Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 11:30-12:00ish. Over the three days, I saw Ratcliffe, Sheriff of Nottingham, Rabbit, Little John, Prince John, and Meeko and probably a couple others.

The entrance to Animal Kingdom is another good spot for the non-commons. We seen Baloo, Suzy, Perla, Koda, Kenai, Friar Tuck, and Brer Bear there recently.

At MGM, you can find some characters that are only in that park. Inside the Animation Building, Chicken Little and Abby Mallard meet. Often Sully and Mike are by their garage near the ABC Commissary restaurant - usually there is a sign posted there as to when they are coming out that day. The Power Rangers meet by the entrance to Lights Motors Action, and usually the Times Guide will list where they are there.

The new Character Connection at Epcot was basically another common classic character meet and greet. Though we did see Gideon, King Louie, and Baloo there on one day.

Well, hope you find some good ones! Hope you have that pure luck needed to be in the right place at the right time to find some of those unusual characters! :teeth:

A Sly Fox? I bet that had to been Foulfellow the Fox from Pinocchio! Definately not a common character! And it makes sense he was pretending to make off with your son - in the movie Pinocchio, Foulfellow was finding boys to be taken away to Pleasure Island!! Guess he wanted your DS to go! He may had been in Italy at Epcot, as Pinocchio takes place in Italy. I recently saw Foulfellow by the Dumbo Ride at Magic Kingdom, so he still gets out and about! :)

Be sure to check in the nooks and crannies in Epcot. A lot of times, you will find them in the countries. In Moraco, we found Genie, Aladdin, Jafar, and Jasmine all together. They also show up in the MK by the Flying Carpets.

The Hunchback in front of the windowed dining section of Les Chefs. Buzzlightyear at the MK in Tomorrowland. There's actually an entrance back there (so keep an eye out).

King Louie, Timon, Rafiki just inside the AK.

We were trilled to find Merlin (!) in Fantasyland... it was only once though. Last year around the holidays bright and early.

Mike and Sulley from Monsters, Inc. down one of the side streets in MGM. There is a "garage" door that has the M, Inc. symbol on it... saw them a few times, but it was fairly soon after the release.

We looove the Toy Story characters (esp. the toy soldiers!) at MGM.

I'm not sure how regular this is anymore, but there used to be a number of characters at MGM around the Sorcerer's Hat area on fairly set shceduls.

HTH!
xoxo
