where do you book your tickets?

This year I purchased a batch from Undercover and use a cash back portal $2.50 savings per ticket. I did purchase them individually. I also purchased a batch from Parksavers but there are no cash back portals available. Make sure you use a cash back portal if one is available and a credit card that pays you back on your purchases. Don't use your Disney Gift cards for this type of purchase, it's better to save it for hotels, food, gifts and hard tickets.

Sorry, sorry I purchased another batch from Orlando Attractions NOT Parksavers. Have not used Parksavers - ever. Sorry about that.

Not meaning to hijack. I just looked at parksavers real quick. The prices looked the cheapest of what I've seen BUT It says it is a voucher and you need to supply names at time of purchase. So I assume I need to know now who is using the ticket. I was wanting to purchase for next May and not sure who exactly will be joining me. If this really isn't the case I would appreciate knowing. Thanks.

I only gave my name when purchasing tickets. It also asks for a redemption date but as long as you plan to enter the ticket numbers they email you into your MDE account, the vouchers nor the date you enter doesn't matter.

The names are unimportant.

Put them all in YOUR name.
Once you have them, you can give them to whomever you want.

Well, I get my Disney gift cards from my grocery store when they are offering 12% off in gas purchases, plus I get 6% back in grocery store purchases from my credit card, so I think 18% off IS a good use of my Disney gift cards.

Oh yes! Absolutely you're getting an amazing deal there's no question, I do exactly the same at Kroger's in MI. Then I put my Disney gift cards into a Disney savings program and earn an additional $20 per $1,000. Then I use the money to pay for my hotel, food, hard tickets and gifts.

The whole point is to earn more money and that can be done by using a cash back portal and paying with a credit card that pays cash back as well: Amex, Discover or Disney Visa for example, when buying park tickets.

Sometimes credit cards and cash back portals can earn you more money and that's what this is all about.

I think we all agree saving money in general is a good thing. But how we save and what we use to keep the savings growing is the end game.

The cash back website I used was ebates. On 2/28/16 they offered $2.50 cashback per transaction. My 5 day park tickets at UCTourist was $321.95 each with tax and shipping ($321.95-$2.50-$319.45). As of today Disney's price is $340 for adult without tax so lets add on the tax $40.80 = $380.80 - $319.45 = $61.35 in savings and that doesn't include what I earned from my credit card.

I know next to nothing about the dining plan, but I thought you had to book a package (room & tickets) through Disney to get the dining plan?

The Better Together Package is a package that includes room and dining. You can use it with room discounts as well. We used Better Together with a 25% room discount code last year for our Easter trip. I purchased our tickets from ticktets at work. Dining was the only thing we paid full price for. I'm planning to do the same thing for our Easter 2017 trip.

Parksavers saved me a lot of money. You can put all the tickets in your name and assign them to who you want in your MDE account. The voucher can be printed in 24 hrs like someone said but the codes to link them in MDE and access fast pass take longer so don't wait til right before your FP window opens. I thing the web site said up to 7 days to get the codes but I got mine in 4.

If you do not link them to a MB and need the actual ticket than you will need to pick them up with Photo ID yourself if they are in your name and not the person you linked them to.(This is my understanding, i have only linked them to MB personally) after you pick them up they can use them.

Just curious, what do you mean by "hard tickets"?

I assume the "hard ticket" parties.

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party.

I thought that was probably the case, but I was just wondering why he made the distinction between park tickets and party tickets.

This just sounded so far off that I checked it. When did you buy your UT ticket? Before the last price increase? If so, then you really should use Disney's actual price before the increase also. Did you have more discounts you didn't mention? In today's prices, a UT 5 day adult ticket with the mousesavers discount is $347.59. On the Disney site, it is $340 + 22.10 in tax, so $362.10. (NOT $380.80) So by a fair comparison you are only saving $14.51 + 2.50. Which is not bad, but not 60!
