Where did you meet your DH/SO??

We met our senior year of high school. Had our first 2 classes together. :)

DH and I met in college. We lived on the same dorm floor and were good friends before we started dating.

The funny thing is that his roommate started dating mine the following year. We gave them a little push and they got married before we did. We waited until I'd been out of school for a year before we tied the knot. Actually, we tried to wait until we both had graduated, but he was too slow for me! We had 2 kids before he finished his undergraduate degree.

I love these stories!
We met at a bar in Malden MA. For those locals, it was Cais, but its no longer there. We actually met 3 times before finally exchanging numbers. It must have been fate. ;) Today is the 9 year anniversary of the exchanging #s, and Saturday is the anniversary of our 1st date.

We met in 5th Grade! Had a crush on him in 7th, 8th, and 9th grade. Then his parents moved away and I never saw him again until 13 years ago when we bumped into each other. We were both single at the time.
It was Love at first sight, and we've been together ever since. We married in Disney November 1997.

My SO went to the same church as my best friend. The summer before 7th grade she invited me along on a church group trip to.....Typhoon Lagoon! It was a very icky day outside and not many people were in the parks. My friend and I happened to walk up to the family raft ride (gangplank falls I think) and he and a friend walked up at the same time. We shared a raft. The funny thing is that neither of us really remembers meeting the other at this point.

We went to the same Jr High School and he was friends with some of my friends. In 9th grade we were in the same drama class and played husband and wife in the school play. (Mr and Mrs Van Cann). But 10th grade all of our friends were pushing us to start dating. We were in the same math class and he sat directly behind me and would always give me backrubs. During finals week another friend and I got together at his house to study for the math exam. My friend suggested that I try on her ring for some reason, and asked him to put it on my finger. I had left my chemistry book (which I needed to study for the exam the next day) at his house and had to go back to get it. He didn't need to but he called me later that night to make sure everything was going ok with my studying (that was his excuse). I talked to him all night long and never did any studying. I got my one and only "F" of my entire life on that chemistry exam. That was a real shocker to me as I was always a straight A student. (Just in case you guys were concerned I got an A for the semester because my in class average was high enough to weight out the "F" ;) ).

After that we talked every single night in a row for 31 nights. Over the summer another friend's parents were going to Germany for a week so I was staying over at her house. I invited him over one night. We shared our first kiss and determined at about 2:30 am that morning that we were "going out"! That was 6-14-98 and we have been together ever since!

We met in High School, dated a few times, went our seperate ways then reconnected 9 years later. Been married 15 years.

Met at work. He proposed two weeks after we met and we've been together since then. Almost 14 years (in March) together, 13 married (in June).

At work. Ummm, 6 months before I was supposed to get married to someone else.

After a 3 yr engagement, I called that wedding off 2 mths before the wedding date.

DH & I moved in together 2 mths AFTER I was to be married. We were engaged 5 months after we moved in. And married 1yr & 4mths after we got engaged. We'll have been married 15 yrs this Sept.

Oh -- and don't worry. My former fiance got married BEFORE I did.  Guess he wasn't too upset. ???

I met dh thru his best friend whom I was (somewhat)dating at the time. When we saw each other for the first time I was speechless. I knew I wanted to marry this man and he felt the same way. This August we are celebrating our 7th anniversary, but we have been together for 13 years. NOt only do I love this man:o :D I am deeply IN LOVE WITH HIM:D

Great thread!
DH's boss whom I'd know for a long time told me he had someone I needed to meet, that he thought he was the one for me. (He told DH the same thing) Guess he was right, DH and I have known each other for 11 years and have been married going on 9 years

We worked at the same place.

Well, it was supposed to be at a mutual friends place at a B.B.Q. but at the last minute the B.B.Q. was called off.

See they were lining us up together as a blind date kinda thing......

Anyway, they gave him my number & he rang me & we organised a meeting ................turned out to be at his place.....

I was to be visiting a girlfriend who lived about 15 minutes from him & as his place was kinda on my way home we arranged to meet there. His mate & girlfriend were there too, so it wasn't just us.;)

On the internet!

He had a personal ad, I answered it. After a few months of online courtship, we met in person in October 2000 and have been inseparable ever since! :)

On AOL :) The day after I broke off a very intense and troubled relationship.
Feb 15th will be the 6th anniversary of the night we met online :)

In the AOL chatroom "The Hot Bed" in October of 1996. We met IRL the first time on Thanksgiving 1996. I saw him again for 10 days at Christmas time. He quit his job and moved 1000 miles to be with me in January, 1997. We married since June of 1997 and he is the most wonderful husband! I can't believe how lucky I am sometimes....

First, I love this thread. It's great to get a glimpse into other people's lives like this. And such great stories too!!!

This is a cross-country story. My family had moved from FL to AL when I was a sophomore in HS. I then went to college at BYU in UT. One spring semester I came back home to stay with my family and my 2 best friends flew me down to FL to visit them for a week. We spent a weekend in Daytona Beach...I know what a great, wonderful, old-fashioned, romantic place....

We went to an awesome club called the Coliseum, it's gone now, and they warned me about guys just coming up and dancing with me. I replied, "I will not dance with anyone until they introduce themselves and ask me to dance." SOOOOO, a few guys did try and I would just walk away. Then DH did the same thing, I walked away, he danced with someone else, then did something he said he had NEVER done. He left the dance floor, came to the table I was at, introduced himself, and asked me to dance. That was it! We spent the rest of the night walking on the beach and talking. He later told me that it was at some point that night that he realized he wanted ME to be the mother of his children. I'm glad he didn't tell me that then!!!!

He came to visit me while I was still in AL, I went to visit him and my friends again in Aug, then he came out for Thanksgiving in UT, moved there in Apr of the next year, then we drove to CT (where DH is from), by way of AL:D, and were married in Sept. In May it will be 10 years since we met.
