Where did this heat and all these people come from? The new PTR/TR link 5/7

I think I know what the special surprise was, but I am going to keep it quiet! But aren't you about to meet someone????? :rolleyes1

I absolutely love your pictures of CSR. I love how photogenic that resort is.

:thumbsup2 to the new room. I think I was in Casitas 4 last summer, unless there is a Casitas 5. Heck - I was in the last Casitas building!

I can't believe some one climbed up the pyramid. What the heck????? You need to crop that picture so we can all get a better view and then you can post it for Disney's most wanted!

CSR just keeps looking prettier and prettier the more pics I see. I'm glad you got to change to a room you wanted. Can't wait to hear about the surprise!

I agree about the heat and crowds... this is the first time we experienced this in May. We decided May will no longer be a month we visit.

Loving the morning pictures of CSR! I really want to stay here now. I had no idea they had hammocks and a beach just like CBR. Excited to see if you get the room/section that you want!:cheer2:

What gorgeous pictures you got of the resort in the morning!! I don't think there is anything more beautiful than early morning at WDW, my favorite time of day, it's quiet and you actually feel like you're the only one there.....love it!!!

I find it hilarious that someone would climb that when no one was around. I mean, really!? :rotfl:

I'm glad you were able to solve your room problem and it's excellent that you were going to be able to stay in your room when the room only ressie switch happened!

Your breakfast looks delicious.

Can't wait to hear the special surprise!

I no longer am shocked by what people will try to do when nobody is watching (although I may have been more shocked witnessing the naked guy at AKL like Michelle!)

I was very happy with my new room location!

Love early morning pictures of Disney!! Just something about quiet and empty Disney that is just so relaxing and beautiful!!!

OOOH...you got your room of choice! I hope in when I go next I get the room I want at POR...mansion you will be mine LOL!!!!!!

OOOH...a special surprise...I wonder what it could be YAY!!!!

This was such a beutiful morning and I'm glad I woke up early so I could just take my time and soak it all in!

I would definitely want a mansion at POR too!

I'm thrilled that you got the location you wanted after all. Score!! The guy at the top of the pyramid makes me laugh. People never amaze me anymore. ;)

Can't wait to read about your surprise!!!

The new room was in a great spot! I was happy with that!!

I love the pictures you got while you were walking around in the morning. And that's great news about getting moved to where you wanted to be in the first place! :thumbsup2

The luggage shuffle was only a little hassle since I hadn't really unpacked much the night before, just jammies and toiletries. It was totally worth it!

Oh my gosh! I can't believe that guy climbed to the top of the pyramid :sad2:

We have many of the same photos, but I may have to steal yours from the empty Dig Site pool - we were right by there and I never thought to walk over and take some pics early in the morning :headache:

I half suspected I would be moving so I figured since I was right there at that time, I would wander through. The resort was beautiful, especially first thing in the morning. Although I have a night walk later and I really enjoyed that too

May 2nd is the morning I was driving back to Nashville in the blinding rain and the bad storm. I was in the midst of everything but a peaceful environment - trees and power lines down, rising waters everywhere, signs blown across roads. I sort of had a mix of Primeval Whirl, and Kali River going on, and I was nowhere near Animal Kingdom. ;) It's nice to think of you having a peaceful morning walk in Disney World at that same time. :)

And a special surprise?!?!? :dance3:

How is the cleanup moving along? They mentioned on the news this morning that it was 2 years ago today that an F5 tornado destroyed half of a town about 45 minutes from us. It's so strange to drive through there now because what looks like a new neighborhood in an open area used to be full of mature trees that are all gone now. Mother nature sure can be destructive!

Katie, I love the photos you took around the CSR. I especially like the Ranchos ones; this is the only section we've not stayed in during our eight stays and we're really looking forward to trying it in September.

since you always bring a car, you might not mind this section, it was just a bit too remote for my taste. the only thing is was close to was the dig site and since I knew we wouldn't go there much, that wasn't an advantage in my mind.

I'm glad changing your room didn't seem to be too much of a hassle.

I think you did a lovely job of channeling MeMom with your picture taking walk around the lake!

Thanks Jill :goodvibes I figured if I was going to do it, this was my chance!

Sounds like you had a really nice walk that morning!!! So glad your room choice worked out for the best......BUT I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE WHAT THE SURPRISE IS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't leave us hanging too long!!!! Where are you headed this morning? I forgot!

It was not too hot yet so the walk was very lovely in the early morning light!

Can't give anything away...I need to keep you coming back

LOVING your TR so far Katie!! I love all those great pics you took, especially the "lit up" palm tree!! It's sounds so lovely to be able to wander around like that! Your dinner at the CG looked amazing too, YUM!!!

I'm anxious to hear what you special surprise is!!!!!!!!!!:woohoo::woohoo:

Thanks Beth, glad you found me! dinner was SO good, wish I could have that more often (like right now, for breakfast)

Waiting to hear more.:)

Glad you have you along! :goodvibes Lots more to come!

Can't wait to read about your surprise!

It was a fun one!

Oh, I love surprises!! :) How funny that guy climbed the pyramid. I'm glad he didn't get hurt!

You can't help but wonder if he got hurt if he would blame Disney. I hate people like that! I once read that the giant "plaques" at the base of the pyramid steps in the Mexico pavillion were put there after it opened because so many people tried climbing them.

I think I know what the special surprise was, but I am going to keep it quiet! But aren't you about to meet someone????? :rolleyes1

Yes, there is a Casitas 5. I wanted 4 because it is closest to the first bus stop. With all the blisters I ended up with, I really appreciated that!

disney's most wanted :lmao: Not sure it ranks up there with Treynor and Baylors naked space mtn pics

CSR just keeps looking prettier and prettier the more pics I see. I'm glad you got to change to a room you wanted. Can't wait to hear about the surprise!

It was a nice resort, I only really had 1 complaint which I will get to later in Day 2

I agree about the heat and crowds... this is the first time we experienced this in May. We decided May will no longer be a month we visit.

Welcome! :goodvibes I was bummed it was so hot and crowded but I tried not to let it get the best of me!

Loving the morning pictures of CSR! I really want to stay here now. I had no idea they had hammocks and a beach just like CBR. Excited to see if you get the room/section that you want!:cheer2:

I did get the exact section I had hoped for. It was in a great location! I'm glad I decided to move

New room :cool1:

Roll on the special surprise.

Maybe tomorrow, I'm working today so hopefully I can get one written then

What gorgeous pictures you got of the resort in the morning!! I don't think there is anything more beautiful than early morning at WDW, my favorite time of day, it's quiet and you actually feel like you're the only one there.....love it!!!

I only saw a few other early risers walking around the resort. Despite my solo status at the time, it was the only place I actually did feel alone  (but in a good way, so peaceful!)

Love your pics - absolutely beautiful of CSR! I thought the guy at the top of the stairs was a worker but maybe I'm wrong.

Isn't it nice to just go at your own pace? I would love to do another solo trip (I was solo only 4 days during our Dec 2008 trip until my DD & GS joined me). I still felt sort of rushed and don't know why.

Loving your report. I was in Casitas 5 I think when my friend took this took one early Dec/Jan Morning.

Love the pics. Can't believe anyone is stupid enough to climb the pyramid but it takes all kinds.

Glad you got the section that you wanted and it won't be that much of a hassle to move.

I don't know what it is but I am up early every morning when I am at Disney even when we stay at MK for the extra magic hours. Funny because I am not really a morning person normally.:rotfl:

I heard on the news last night that the last government office reopened yesterday. Opry Mills and Opryland Hotel - the last I heard was that they were hoping to be open again by Christmas. Every night they have another story of people rebuilding their homes and lives. Every night I feel blessed and a little guilty that I was so lightly affected by it with just wet carpet.

CSR is a beautiful resort. I love walking around over there, but there are still parts of it I haven't seen.

Hey katie! Great pics of your resort! It looks really beautiful in the morning when not everyone is up yet!! I'm glad you were able to change rooms AND were able to stay in the same room when your ressies switched over!! Can't wait to see what kind of surprise you got!

I didn't get the impression that guy was a worker...I guess it's possible though :confused3

I think it's easy to feel rushed when you are trying to squeeze in everything you want to do. I know I would have liked another afternoon off during my trip and probably should have taken it but I only scheduled 1 and I wasn't willing to give up anything else for a second!

NICE!!!!! :thumbsup2 I was never up quite that early

I would not have wanted to do it a few days later but since I knew I might, I didn't unpack much at all so the move was pretty pain free!

As the trip went on, it got harder and harder to get up quite so early :rotfl:

Don't feel guilty, feel blessed. I know that's hard though! I really enjoyed CSR, very laid back and easy to relax after a hectic day in the parks.

Hey katie! Great pics of your resort! It looks really beautiful in the morning when not everyone is up yet!! I'm glad you were able to change rooms AND were able to stay in the same room when your ressies switched over!! Can't wait to see what kind of surprise you got!

thanks Keala! The first switch was easy, 4 days later...not so much!

***************************

Not sure how soon I will get the next update up. Tomorrow I am chaperoning a field trip with Patrick's class to the local nature center and Friday is Daniel's end of the year celebration and my parents will be coming

OOOOOH A surprise!!! I love surprises!! Wait....do I know what it is? :rotfl2: It all seems so far away now! :sad1:

Enjoyed the pictures from your early morning walk, very pretty!

Can't wait to hear about the surprise!

Hey Katie...like you, I am not only late to bed, but early to rise at Disney. It's amazing how little sleep you need at WDW, isn't it???

I have to say, I think I also would have chosen to move based on those pictures of where you were situated. Those bldgs and the view aren't anything special, are they? Looking forward to seeing your new digs!;)

Also looking forward to hearing all about this surprise!!!
