where can I write to report an unprofessional DVC agent?

We're told the DVC agent acted in an unprofessional manner. What exactly did he do? Did he take his clothes off and try to kiss you? Or did he roll his eyes when you said something?

That would have a lot of bearing on everyone's opinion.

BTW, if what he did was really wrong and would get him fired, one shouldn't worry about his children or the holidays. That was his responsibility, and if he doesn't care enough about them to act professionally, then you shouldn't either.

You should complain in writing. The rep's boss can decide if it was just a bad day or is part of a pattern.

Taking the time to write a letter has more of an impact then speaking with someone when it happens (both is actually best).

Yes, it may have been a bad day, but if it concerns you weeks later do not hesitate to write.

Exactly.

If the incident was not severe enough to warrant a firing he is not going to get fired. If if this is the first complaint against this agent then again, he will be warned.

Sorry, I'm in the "let it go" camp. I tend to be over in this camp a lot though, as I take care of dying people for a living. Pick your battles. But that is just me. If the OP shared their story, I might be more inclined to switch camps....which has me thinking....did the OP want my opinion in the first place??? :teeth:

If the original poster felt it warranted a letter to management about the treatment he/she recieved then so be it. Management can then decide the type of punishment if any.

Who is to say that the agent will be fired?? Take food off his kids table?? We don't even know if he/she has kids?

We do pay alot to be DVC members and should be treated with respect. Every person has a different level of tolerance. Obviously the poster had a bad experience and feels it should be reported. For some to say 'life is too short' and to pick and choose your battles. Obviously, this is a battle that the poster wants to pick and choose. He/she should not be bashed over it!!!

Just maybe, the reporting of this incident will help the rest of us DVC members in the future. How else can a company learn about it's employees and they way they treat customers. It is too often that letters of praise are not reported and letters of bad employee behavior are. If I experience a kind and caring CM I always report and write a letter................and the same if I get treated in a manner I feel is not that of what a Disney employee should be!!!

Just my 2 cents........................I will also put my flame suit on!!! LOL!!

Actually the OP did not ask any of us if she should report it, only how to report it.

Others decided without even knowing the circumstances that she needed to let it go. :confused3

[...] Can you see a DIS manned DVC booth. We'd all be asking them how many times they've been to WDW, where they stay, how much they tend to spend. When there weren't customers, we'd be discussing the issues among ourselves sos everyone could hear. That booth would likely have 10 times the sales of the rest combined.
[...]
Oh, I disagree. First, there would be 30 minutes of chatting about the DIS Guides' WDW negative experiences (holes in walls, hairs in tubs, being treated rudely because they were DVC owners) before they even got to the part of buying into DVC. Second, they would be slamming the current resort being sold - SSR - by saying that the property is too big, the pool is too small and there aren't enough dining options. Finally, they would end every sales pitch with "Buy where you want to stay" - thereby pushing away 90% customers into the hands of The Timeshare Store.

DIS folks are like family - but have you ever heard most families talk amongst themselves? :rotfl2:

Dean and Dr Tomorrow.... you two crack me up!
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
I'm with the camp on giving info on how to report it - it's up to the poster whether to report it. We have no idea what happened - and unless they want to share - it's none of our business.

While i'm not a DVC Guide, I do work in retail and realize everyon can have a bad day.

That being said, if I treated someone rudely or in poor taste, I would *hope* that the customer that I was dealing with did report it to my manager or district manager.

I say that because it lets me know that I need to change XYZ things when I present myself to a customer. Additionally, I wouldn't be worried that i'm in fear of losing my job simply because I have an exellent record with my company. In 5 years, i've only had 1 complaint from a customer. But again, if I did treat a customer poorly, I would hope they would report it so that I myself knew I made an *** of myself and can correct that in the future.

As others have said, it's up to his management about his job. In my scenario, I wouldn't have to worry about being fired, just a warning. Now if I had a track record of problems, then I probably deserve to be fired anyhow.

I would report a embarrassing moment. If someone is having a bad day that's their problem not mine. Hopefully when you have a very good encounter you also report that. Susan

The OP simply asked for an e-mail contact:

The OP has already decided to write. S/he didn't ask if s/he SHOULD write.

NO KIDDING! After the response she got just from asking for an address, I shudder to think what a few folks might say if she mentioned the actual incident.

I'm floored that ANYONE would form an opinion on whether or not the letter should written based on such little information. Had the first response not been so nasty, I doubt the thread would have taken this turn. I just wish Sammie or JudithM would have responded first. They gave the OP exactly what was asked for.

And offtheice, from the bitterness of your response, I'm wondering if you have some *personal* experience with this. Were you fired before a major holiday for unprofessional behavior and kept from putting food on your table? Is this why the OP's question rubbed you so raw?

I totally disagree with just blowing this off. I think DVC needs to hear about any rude or inappropriate behaviors of their agents. I'm pretty sure DVC isn't going to just go an fire an agent because of one reported incident; however, if they have a history of inappropriate behavior on their file then that could justify them being let go, but unless you report these instances there is no way that DVC can monitor the customer service levels that we come to expect from CMs!

If they have a history of doing this kind of stuff, they need to be let go! Even if it's Thanksgiving Day! Call me cold hearted, but if you don't like your job and take out your frustrations on guests, you need to find a new job. Reporting these things could help save a future guest the embarrassment or bad experience.

I couldn't agree more. Recording complaints will ensure that this doesn't keep happening. EVERY business needs feedback both good and bad from customers so they can stay on top of things. As a business owner I welcome any and all comments. DVC should encourage complaints. Do I feel what this agent did watrrants being fired,no, but it should be dealt with.
