Where Can I Get My Mt Dew Fix ??

Ok, this thread has made me go out to get a bottle of MD.

For scientific purposes, of course.

We can only get it in 500ml bottles (16.9oz)

Now per 100ml (3.38oz) there is 18mg caffeine so per 16oz there is 85mg.

Which I guess means our MD is much higher than yours.

That's about 64mg per 12oz.

It's about 20% more caffeine per 12oz serving than american Mt. Dew, but still considerably less caffeine than an equal sized serving of coffee.

The whole Coke Dr Pepper issue is complicated. Coke only makes Dr Pepper outside of North America.
Things may have changed, but the way I understand it is this: Dr Pepper is a product which, in most places, doesn't have a dedicated bottling plant. Therefore, in most regions, it is bottled and distributed by either your local Coca-Cola or Pepsi-Cola bottler. So in some areas, it might be considered a "Coke product," while in others it is a "Pepsi product."

In areas where the Coke bottler doesn't distribute Dr Pepper, they often offer Mr Pibb (or "Pibb Xtra" -- the current version).

As I said, things may have changed in the last few years, but this is what a Coke vendor told me several years ago.

I think this is mostly correct but I think Dr Pepper and the like are being bottled less and less by Coke and Pepsi.

It may have had something to do with the recent merger that made the Dr Pepper Snapple Group.

If you have a car, you get it in all the same places you get it at home - gas stations, grocery stores, Walmart, etc.

If you are stuck on Disney property with no way to get around, maybe someone will deliver it.

I had a guy offer me $10 for one can of Diet Pepsi once. :rotfl:

Interesting. I wonder why they put more caffeine in the UK version.

Found this online - turns out that as Energy drinks are such a big seller these days they thought it'd be more popular than releasing it as a 'normal' soft drink.

Mountain Dew launched in the UK in 1996, but was withdrawn two years later following poor sales.

The brand has, however, remained strong in the youth market through global associations with extreme sports and computer games. Mountain Dew is one of PepsiCo's best-selling drinks in the US. The company is hoping that by
positioning it as an energy drink it will have greater success second time around.

The UK soft-drinks market is worth £8.6bn, according to The Nielsen Company. Cola is the top category, followed by pure juice. The glucose and stimulant drinks category, in which Mountain Dew Energy will be positioned, is the third-biggest, worth £567m in 2009, up by 7% on the previous year

I just wish we had Code Red....... :(
