Where Can I Get My Mt Dew Fix ??

We drive, so we'll take a 24-pack of it for my DH. And yes, he will go through those in a week!

I'm starting to wonder what the heck they put in Moutain Dew. :confused:My SIL sleeps with a diet Mtn Dew by her bed, and always has one in her purse. I thought that was strange. hmmmmm.....:confused3

Just to be clear-

Sierra Mist is Pepsi's version of 7-Up or Sprite.
It's a non-caffeinated lemon-lime drink.

Mountain Dew (Pepsico again) is a (relatively) highly-caffeinated soft drink built on a concentrated orange juice base.

I simply meant that it was the ame maker, not the same product. So although we didn't buy Mt Dew we did buy a pepsi product at a Hess. It was the DTD
Hess on our way out to home. Whether that makes a difference I don'y know.

Obviously I know what mountain dew is:rolleyes:

The Hess near DTD is not on Disney property, which is why you can buy pepsi products there.

My girls have their 12 packs of Mt. Dew Throwback in our front room (our pre-packing room, lol ) ready to go. It's gonna be a long 1400 miles with all that Dew in the backseat!!:thumbsup2

I was on a huge Diet Mt. Dew kick last summer, so I took a 12 pack with me. I have recently become addicted to Diet Coke, and I'm so excited that they sell it in the parks. (We're staying off-site, so I will have my mandatory 24 pack with me.)

Do yourself a favor and kick the habit. If you don't have time before vacation, wait until after. It can be done, I had one of the worst Mt. Dew addictions known to man. I would consume between 3-4 liters a day (when I added up the calories that equalled it was astounding). The headaches I would get if for some reason I didn't get my fix were unbearable. I used caffiene pills when I quit, slowly weening myself off over a couple weeks. I now rarely drink any caffiene, and never anything loaded with it like Mt. Dew. It has been a few years now and I feel much better.

The Pizza Hut just outside the Downtown Disney entrance to the property is where we went. We ordered pizza and two 2 liters of Mt Dew. We went to pick it up, though, so I guess you have to have a car or call a cab... maybe stock up in the airport before you get on the bus?

I would say the closest you can get to Mt. Dew in a Coke product is Mellow Yellow which I'm not sure is sold in WDW. Though Coke has jumped on the energy drink band wagon and has also created Vault, a similar drink.

Coke has tried and failed over the years to grab some of Mt Dews market share.

In my exhausted research for my post (3 Wikipedia articles) I found out that regular Mt Dew in Canada and Australia is the non caffeine version , so if you visit those countries, read your labels.

Vault is actually doing extremely well in grabbing some of Mt. Dew's market share. My hubby works for Coke and actually the response to Vault over the past five years since it was released has been better than expected. I still prefer Mt. Dew (don't tell hubby!) but Vault is above and beyond Mellow Yellow and Surge.

I really liked working with the We Go Shop ladies. They are on time with the delivery and got everything we wanted. They even took advantage of a sale (buy 2 get 3) and brought us an extra case of soda. They may be the easiest way to get the Mountain Dew.

we order it from garden grocer....yes expensive...worth every penny not to have a crabby husband! ;)

Ooh I haven't had Vault in a long time!! The thing with me with Vault, for some reason it tastes like it has alcohol in it - I know it doesn't, but maybe the flavor reminds me of some alcoholic beverage? I don't know, I don't drink alcohol any more, but whenever I've tasted Vault, it tastes like I should be buzzing lol :rotfl:

There weird thing is, for me, other sources of caffeine don't offset the headaches. At Disney I drink iced tea and Diet Coke and the occasional iced cappuccino, but that doesn't keep the headaches at bay, and at home when I quit I tried coffee and Excedrin migraine (which contains caffeine in addition to the painkiller) and neither helped. I knew how much Mt Dew I drank - Diet in my case, which is probably why it took me so long to be motivated enough to quit - and realized that even an apples-to-apples substitute for the caffeine content didn't get me off the hook. It is something in the dang Mt Dew that gets me, not just the daily caffeinated beverage!

I absolutely feel better on a day to day basis since I quit, even though I still drink other caffeinated drinks (mostly green or black tea). :goodvibes

AS a dedicated Mello Yello drinker, let me tell you that you canNOT get it at WDW, with the exception of a few Coke machines here and there -- which, most likely, will eat your $$ and not give you the soda. When we went in Oct. '08, I couldn't find anything to quash the headache I had -- I just don't drink other sodas -- and no Mello Yello to be found. I now take some with me for just-in-case, but last year I gave them up for Lent and they don't taste right anymore. (Okay...so maybe I'm not so dedicated anymore...)

Oil! That's why I don't drink it anymore -- it always seemed like it left a film in my mouth. Then someone told me it was invented to mix with some medication that tasted horrid, and the flavor was so well-liked it became a soda. The oil, claimed the person, was necessary for it to mix with the medication. (**NOTE: I, in no way, advocate the validity of the above statement. From the source I got it, it very likely isn't true, and I've just been too lazy to look it up and verify it. Just sayin', you know, in case some one wants to chime in that that's not why/how MD was invented...**)

Carbonated Water, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Concentrated Orange Juice and Other Natural Flavors, Citric Acid, Sodium Benzoate (Preserves Freshness)Caffeine, Sodium Citrate, Gum Arabic, Erythorbic Acid (Preserves Freshness)Calcium Disodium EDTA (to Protect Flavor)Brominated Vegetable Oil and Yellow 5.

Don't know about Vault, but that blue Mountain Dew? It cries for a shot of rum to be added to it. Just doesn't taste right otherwise.... :rolleyes1

I really do feel for the people that can't get their drinks at WDW- I so completely understand. However, I am addicted to Coca-Cola, so I can get my regular fix while at Disney. Seriously, if I had to go more than a day without a Coke, I don't know what I would do.

I just had to share my giddiness since you Mt. Dew/Dt. Mt. Dew people will understand. I just got five 12-packs of Dt. Mt. Dew for $11 at the mini-mart on the base that I work on.

 One, or possibly two, of those packs will be going with me on my upcoming trip.

The Hess at DTD next to the Casting building is on WDW property and there are not supposed to be Pepsi products for sale there since that would be a direct violation of the sponsorship agreement that WDW has with the Coca-Cola company.

I can't find the map that shows the exact property lines of WDW (Robo - do you have one?) but the last one I saw showed that area was most definitely considered part of WDW property.

I am loving seeing other people who have the same crazy addiction that I have. :lmao:

We are flying, but stopping on the way in at a grocery store to buy a case of water and Mt. Dew. :thumbsup2

I feel like we need to have a Mountain Dew Addict button or something so we can help each other out in the parks. :rotfl:

Good luck everyone!!!
